Hey guys, I love you all but I thought we agreed to beg for the A-6 before begging for the F-4.
Like, seriously.

:grinning:

Edit: of course I’m joking. I’d love to see them landing together on DCS supercarriers…
Just imagine the lineup…

F14, F4, and A6 on the carrier.

As long as there’s no F-111…

My kids (3y and 5y) love your humor.

these thread titles are getting weird.

I’m into it.

and @komemiute the F111 is amazing. It’s like a Viggen and a tomcat had a swing wing, nap-of-the-earth flying baby.

That being said, for swing-wing bomb trucks, there is only one answer:

Bone.

Hehehehe to be honest I like it but my posture is a swing at @Bogusheadbox and his passionate passion for the Aardvark.
We have this fake feud between the Intruder (which is undoubtedly the best plane ever and no other will ever surpass it) and the F-111 and I lose no chance to fan that fire.

Yes!!! White Swan for the win!!! Gorgeous!

Always thought the F101 Voodoo was a sexy beast. Gotta love the Century series fighters.

The Canuck’s were flying them as late 1983-ish.

I recall two things about them: 1) they were really LOUD and, 2) turning them on to final (PAR) took some fore-thought. Something North of 200 knots on final as I recall. They didn’t turn very well. Thunderchief’s were worse. Beautiful machine though.

Oh gods! I forgot about that! Fantastic bird!
It was used also in Iron Hand missions…

I also like the F-100.

That one looks like an Ant Eater. Love the 101.
But here is my favorite aircraft OAT. The sexy machine!

With those big fella’s on the wings and the wing loading of the lawn dart. They could almost look like biceps if you squint. A cracking little plane

Man I would love to have a zipper in DCS. Same engine as the phantom. Hardly any wings, just mudguards with an attitude. A Vulcan cannon and four sidewinders. What else can a man want?

German pilots liked the F-104 a lot. Even though it also crashed a lot.

That they crashed a lot had little to do with the zipper.

There was a sudden transition from hardly any jets to masses of high performance zippers. They did not transition the pilots all that well, leading many to get behind the airplane. In a machine that has less wings than many have tails, that ain’t healthy.

There was also the pressure of a threatening ww3 conflict. They flew a lot, they flew hard and low and in shitty weather.

It’s not the zippers fault. Any other contemporary machine would have suffered equal attrition under those circumstances.

If you ever meet a German pilot who flew the zipper, tell him he’s a hero and he can always lend my wheelbarrow to cart his huge brass balls around with.
