I like your thinking!
They would dump the old stock before that…
Yes, at least one SteamVR Lighthouse (HTC Vive or Valve Base Stations). The ones you get from Varjo are Valves, but HTCs work just as well an are just as easy to use. I have one of each.
Yeah, headphones is needed. The only audio solution that comes with the Aero is earplugs…
There is a VR Adapter that comes with the headset.
If you’re into other VR games that uses hand controllers, you need those as well.
Yeah, I’m looking forward to hear more about that one too.
Never use them (I’m holding out for good, reliable, hand tracking ). Still have the hand controllers from the O+ and G2. And they’re all in a box, somewhere.
That would be great! I tried Leap Motion and when it works, it’s fantastic. Unfortunately I found it to be useable only in a small area right in front of the sensor, like when plonking away on the F-16 UFC, but if I reached down for the gear handle, I had maybe a 50/50 chance of hitting it. I hope someone solves this, soon…
Hey, then maybe I could by a 2H one at a reasonable price!
I guess I am going to spam post this link.
I hadn’t read that one.
“A rather nice box, if I may add. And yes, I do pay attention to how products are packaged.”
He loses a star for not tasting the box.
Single base station should work. Right? No hand controllers (never use them) Very small room if that matters (think walk-in closet); I assume with one placing it just above the monitor should work?
Thanks
No review is complete without it.
That’s what I did in the beginning. I lost tracking in extreme angles, so I got a second base station.
Hmm. Like checking yur six?
Yes, but I think the issue was how my SimBox had the lid, covering the line of sight to the front.
I think a single Base Station will work just fine if you can mount it in the ceiling or a couple of meters/yards in front of you. Because of the lid, I had my single base station at about a meter in front and up and this made the angle too steep.
Ah, ok. Being a very small space sounds like up high (12 o’clock high ) is my only option to keep it in front of me and more than 4 feet away;
Nice review by Sergio.
Pitty he is not comparing G2 and Aero in terms of FOV, sweetspot size and other phenomena like glare or godrays.
I think these qualities are also important in VR world.
The price drop made me look at Aero’s website. 990 EUR looks good but that is without taxes and a base station or two.
Just looked up “setting up base stations”; thought they were USB. Negative. Guess no printing anything while I’m inside the headset. It’s a mess of power chords+power strips as is,
Oh well, gotta do what I gotta do…still haven’t pulled the trigger
Same. If they would throw in a base station for even $50 I would be mashing the Buy Now button. Fortunately? I’m on the road in KAUS for a few days…,cooling off time
Cooling off in Austin… .
