Victork2 and his ultimate folly

Alas, new fuel filter had no effect. Needed to be done regardless!

Does a boot leak somewhere so that air can get in? I presume it is injection but carbs can have that between the intake and the carb boot. Sometimes that closes up when the block gets hot. You could run the engine idle, spray some WD40 at potential leakage places and see if it changes anything in RPM.

This car as good as it looks?

This old ■■■■■■■ looks good to me too. cheap and not too precious. And it has enough seats.

This one is a tad too expensive I’m afraid :frowning: I’d also feel bad getting that pristine machine all filthy and dinged up using it for work

That would be ok. Take that hideous bull bar off it.

The 2019, is a 2.4. Not the best engine ever made especially with the trailer you tow.

The navara. Has probably already rotted out on the chassis.

If you go look at the mk6 hilux, check the chassis and cross members under where the spare wheel would sit, they are prone for rot there but its easily fixed

Indestructible! Love how their head mechanic is able to resurrect it each time.

Right. Update time.

Been an absolutely mental couple of weeks that have genuinely nearly broke me. We all work hard in our own way. But this last fortnight has been a mixture of crazy hard work (which is fine) bad attitudes from customers which I hate. No time on between jobs for either maintenance or housekeeping on the van or warehouse and just a general feeling of being on the back foot the whole time.

Compounding this has been a lack of time and will to work on the things that keep me sane (I do actually think I might be losing it a bit, more on that, possibly in the MH thread rather than this one) I haven’t been able to be my usual upbeat self lately and its showing at home and work (and whatsapp, sorry @komemiute and @tempusmurphy, I am trying I promise)

Anyway. Finally snapped today and decided to blow off a non urgent job and take the humvee out for a much needed rip. We both needed it as it turns out as it was a ■■■■■■■ to start and found the bloody fuel pump I changed last year has failed (seriously, its got one job and has probably done it for about 4 hours, American made shite )but within 30 seconds of driving it, i was smiling ear to ear and even had a little bit of wet eyes. Turns out that I’m actually pretty easy to sort out. Just need to bounce around and get deafened by a humvee for 10 mins. Which is good to know.

Cathartic. I believe the word is.

Oh…and I may have finally bought an M925…more on that to come and let’s not count chickens just yet as this would be round 3 of this particular adventure and I’m not believing it till it happens

Well if a customer gives you too much grief you could always use it to iron out any wrinkles in their vehicles.

I’m pretty confident this time. Everything seems to be happening as it should. I’ve actually completely paid for it, it’s being registered and just waiting for the number plate to be issued and I can have it.

I’ve begged the landlord at my yard and we are good to go. I reckon about a month or so tops and it will be added to the fleet.

Hell yeah!

(I don’t even dare to ask how much fuel it guzzles. At least it is diesel, right? …right?).

Yes, this one could be on the heavy side, its got a 14 litre Cummins non-turbo diesel. So its gonna take a touch of fuel here and there..

It is gorgeous! What a machine! I bet it sounds like freedom too! What a hunk of metal!

So what’s the business case? Show appearances or actually hauling rubber dog ■■■■ to hard to reach places only a monster such as this can make it to?
