That zombie one… I’ve always just assumed that conversation has happened in every job field at least once or twice.

True story: my ex-wife’s best friend’s husband is a bit of a doomsday prepper. Like, their property has a 10’ earthen berm along the entire border, and the house they built has a fully self-contained panic room, with independent water, power, HVAC, and 2-hour rated walls. He decided we would be allowed in there when the zombie apocalypse happens, because we both have usable skills and know how to handle firearms (did I mention his weapons magazine is also within this concrete enclosure?).

Being in the intel business…every time one of these apocalypse dates comes around I have been tempted to provide a strait faced intel brief detailing the sudden destruction of mankind, and make it seem like “we” knew about it all along…but then I decided that I liked my job…and the paycheck…so…I didn’t.

When I was on STENNIS we did a pretty good “Area 51 aliens” brief for SCI indoctrination…covered Alien Autopsies, how the aliens helped us fake the Apollo moon landings and that President Gerald Ford was in fact an alien…we thought it was funny at the time…
