VTOL VR

Surely this is posted in here somewhere, but I just found out VTOL has integrated voice commands. I always wondered what the comms knob did considering the radios were already working. If you missed this feature like I did, when you turn that comms knob on, it activates your microphone for voice commands. Here is a list of available commands: Voice Commands | VTOL VR Wiki | Fandom

Pretty slick integration although not surprising with this game.

This is funny. A guy on Discord posted this cool video of a missile launching…we’ve seen it before, the one that uses the puffs of thrust to go horizontal. So the VTOL developer posted the second GIF in reply… :fire:

Apparently there is a dev tool that allows for slow motion…some users have shown it to good effect. Check out the canopy rockets during the ejection!

The developer is working on an LHA type ship. He ran into the problem of - well, the deck is pretty small. This is one idea he has…pushback carts…

Just joined the forum because of this thread. I love VTOL VR. Been playing various flight sims for 35 years starting with Chuck Yeagers combat flight sim on the C64. VTOL is a dream come true for me. This forum shows that there others that feel the same about this wonderful software. I’m totally shocked that there are no other developers using this as an inspiration to do a heli sim.

Anyway, thanks for posting updates from discord on here and please keep the thread alive.

Oh man…your timeline is about as long as mine! I remember zooming around in those blocky shapes…great fun.

The VR friendly (actually exclusive) development of VTOL VR really shows that you don’t necessarily have to have the flashiest graphics if you are going to build something that is fun, perfect for VR, and has a great community supporting it. I’d love to see a helo or some things like sling loads, the ability to pick up other pilots (which implies multiplayer), and a dynamic type campaign of some sort similar to Enemy Engaged maybe.

Enemy Engaged is one of my favorite games! I’ve been able to get it working with VorpX but since the default cockpits are 2d… it doesn’t look right.

I’m with you, don’t need to have the most awesome top end graphics to have fun. Heck, I’d probably still enjoy Comanche Gold if it was updated and put into VR.

VTOL VR Multi player will be a springboard for the game. Flying coop missions would just be incredible.

This game is so much pure FUN, I d/loaded a HARM SAM finding mission last nigh that is part of a larger Iraq campaign, where you fly around Kuwait without crossing the Iraqi border, and man it was, intense, immersive and beautiful at the same time!
