Metaphorically speaking, I’ve been having cat nonstop (their fur gets everywhere).
I bet it rhymes with “runt” ![]()
If you take enough Ibuprofen, you get high as a kite. Don’t ask me how I know but it has something to do with a wisdom tooth. That stuff they inject in your gums to numb them, you get enough of that in your blood and …
I never take any medication/pills except vitamins and on the very rare occasion that I’m in extreme pain I take one extra strength Ibuprophen. Whenever I have to take an Ibuprophen I tell my wife it feels quite good afterwards LOL, and I can see why people get hooked on painkillers. You’ve just proven my point.
It’s very bad for your gut health flora though.
Well, i think i can safely say that it’s not doing much for me. 2:30 in the morning and i managed roughly 1h of sleep so far. This is even less fun than previously indicated.
Maybe pound some whiskey?
Man, I know exactly how you feel.
I wish I had anything more constructing to say…
I was like 16 when they removed both my upper wisdom teeth.
They had to slice open the gum to reach to them and literally pull them out with pliers.
It was not pretty and the sound of when the teeth gave up was nauseating.
The point is it was a hot summer and back then our car didn’t have any clima.
On the way home (on hour and something drive) the anesthesia waned off.
The heat compounded the pain that mounted in my face… it. Was. Ugly.
For the rest of the day I was absolutely hoping to die, and I just can’t remember when I eventually came back to myself.
A couple of days for sure.
All I remember, though, was mountains of ice cubes I kept to my face with a cloth.
Ice helped a bit. A fair bit.
You have all my compassion and respect.
It’ll pass.
Perhaps a bit? But especially at the dentist’s I wouldn’t know why, as nothing bad ever happened to me, there. My teeth are pretty much perfect so far.
I tend to think I just maybe had my fair share of tools in my mouth already. As a child I had to wear braces for years and regularly go to the orthodontist. I hated it, it always ruined the whole day and more.
Yeah, doing this in the summer must be godawful.
My upper molar was out in 10 minutes, the lower though was pointed straight forward against the next tooth. Took the doc about 40 minutes of intermittent drilling and prying to get everything out, it was a pretty gory experience. At some point half of the staff was in the room watching like birds sitting on a wire, guess they don’t see that every day either. I reckon I have a sizeable hole in my jawbone now that needs to heal.
On the flip side, after the morning dosage of painkillers, they’ve started to kick in and i managed to sleep 2 hours. Feeling much better already. Today i’m gonna wait as long as possible with the last painkiller dose so it lasts me well into the night. I’d rather have them wear off a bit during the day than sit through such a night again.
I was told that there’s a contraindication for alcohol, as it’s detrimental to the healing of the gum wounds. Also i always forget if it’s Ibuprofin or Paracetamol that torches your liver if you take it with alcohol, but i think the latter.
Same here. I’ll never forget the sound of metal on enamel in my head. 1 week off work and I read all 7 Harry Potter books in bed that week.
I was given a load of tramadol painkillers for a back injury a while back and (in a cracking display of idiotic behavior) I took 4, without reading the box and assuming they were ibuprofen. I then drove 400 miles up to Scotland in a lorry and cannot remember a single thing about that journey. I’m extremely lucky not to have killed some poor person in a car.
I say this not for the humor factor because it isn’t bloody funny but because it was a supreme example of being pressed to work when I should of been at home AND not reading the label because I was in agony and needed quick relief from the pain.
Utter madness

On my second hip replacement (at the ripe old age of 38), I told the nurse the single tablet of Vicodin wasn’t quite doing the trick. She came back at my next dose interval with two tablets, and I didn’t even think to ask what they were and popped them both. When you’re actually still in the hospital you have a pump full of hydromorphone hooked up and you can push the button to get a dose every 15-20 mins. Great for taking the edge off in the morning, after PT, etc. I hit the button, and figured the extra tablet of Vicodin would be just the ticket to finally be comfortable. Then the 2 Percocet hit. That was a wild ride for someone who has never done any kind of drug besides alcohol.
I pulled a wisdom tooth when I was at flightschool. I had my last aerobatics flight, before the checkride and I told my instructor that I was feeling queasy. He said something about how I should’ve gotten over that this late in the program. I replied that I had pulled a tooth and was swallowing blood because of the G forces. The instructor glanced at me briefly, said “My controls!” and we flew back and landed. I got a scolding at the debrief about flying the same day as having teeth pulled!
I honestly felt fine, before the flight. The local anestethics had worn off, hours before the flight.
It’s still a substantial hit to your system. I just emptied and filled the dishwasher and now i’m tired.
Don’t worry, I am exactly the same … I have no issues with any doctors … I have had two hernia ops in two years, and no issues with any of the hospital stays … but going to the dentist…
total fear …

We’re all a bunch of big yellow scaredycats lol!

Just catching up on this thread… For my office chair I bought a set of these, and they work great.
I recently upgraded my office chair and the wheels fitted the new one too. I guess there is a standard for office chair wheels. Who’d-a-thunk -it? ![]()
Have you calculated the hydroplaning speed for those? Brake temp monitors? Nitrogen filled? ![]()
So far no hydroplaning or smoking brakes…;). They work great though…I just engage 2 of them and the seat doesn’t roll when using my Crosswinds pedals.
Elena is becoming alert enough that a baby gym seemed like a good idea.
$125!? No. That’s like $10 of wood, that’s ridiculous.
Instead I got some pine and hacked one together myself. An easy and fun little project.
In the future, the memory of “my daddy made that” will sit in her head a lot easier than “my daddy sat on his phone and ordered from amazon”
You did a great job there @Bearhedge I’m sure the little one will love it
