Oh no! Sorry to hear it!
Ah, no fun at all. Hoping that you get well before the return, if you haven’t left already.
Did you happen to get near the Hurricane MK XII? It’s supposedly the most original Hurricane flying.
The other would be to see our local heroine Alina flying her ultralight. I’m assuming that dad does the maintenance. Don’t you hate it when aircraft parts are raining on you during flight?
LOL @ that video. I’m amazed she caught it lol. She’s funny, and has a good attitude.
Yeah, I laughed at that (her attitude, not the bolt) too. Alina’s tough. Maybe tell dad that it’s time for a D check?
I got better by Thursday, thanks! I did see the Hurri and the even more impressive Canadian Spit. Both looked as if they had just rolled out of the factory. Canada got a lot of deserved love at this year’s AV as this is the RCAF’s 100th birthday! The highlights this year for me were: 1) Skip Stewart, 2) Frecchi Tricolore’s always perfect formation flying, 3) The Titan’s T-6 night show, 4) The jet motor-glider during the night show, 5) The drone display at the night show, 6) THE NIGHT SHOW!
The flight home yesterday was even easier than the flight to AV. Perfect weather, light winds.
jeez, it looks more like BIG wood screw than bolt
magnificent women in their wooden flying machines!
Her dad said that it was a “flap motor bolt” in the video description.
Surprised it was not safety wired or at least held in place with a lock nut.
Wheels
Last year, just before her original arrival after flying all the way from South Carolina, her exhaust manifold rattled loose. I really like her dad and how he is raising his children as aviators. But I hope that these events are the exception rather than the norm. I have zero experience with ultralights, so shouldn’t comment.
Some of the planes that I’ve rented were not in the best shape either. Window handles falling off in flight, forcing you to fly one handed while holding it shut. Nose wheels so imbalanced that they rattled your teeth.
Harvest time… Farming Simulator 2024 RL edition
Note the aircon mod (bailing twine tied to hold the doors open)
Hurrying to get the rows done, bailed and wrapped before the rain forecast.
A buzzard about to take flight whilst rowing my neighbours.
Finally finished in the dark at 11pm.
Nice neat rows there & I’d kill for pasture like that.
I know Diddly Squat about farming other than that it is hard and variable. Nice going @keets!
Tried it. Too many bugs
also not realistic enough,
@bisher, This is definitely one of those times I wish we could use something other than a like emoji on the actual post so here is a more apropos smiley for you.

Diddly Squat
We visited the other day. Queue for 60 mins to get in the shop and 30 mins for a burger
Nah.
Wheels! Respect bruh
Around 9.30 last night the cable which controls the up/down on the loader chose to snap.
When this happens, the natural thing being when the loader isn’t going up when you pull the joystick (climb dammit), you naturally push down which still works and presses the bale spike into the ground, hence the late finish.
Today was spent recovering the tractor from the field where I’d moved the bales to.
Stripped down cable from the spool.
Cable is on order, so tractor is U/S, so I thought I’d take a chance to strip stuff down and fabricate/weld a new bracket to put the loader joystick in a more comfy place.
After that success, I should have quit. Instead I decided to top up the hydraulic fluid. Unfortunately I managed to pick up the wrong 25L container and used the tractor engine oil.
@Victork2 - I’m assuming this won’t be disastrous, but may make the hydraulic response slower?
I know I’m a numpty.

Correct. Won’t hurt it in the immediate. Drain it on the next service and change the filter and you’ll not know the difference. Especially if its just a top up.

Cheers matey, you’re a legend.
I’ll be doing a full service October time, so will sort then. Poor girl has had a hard summer.
