This is just outstanding. Nothing can be hidden in these sessions.
The wife and I have been fans of Billie Eilish since we first heard her on the radio about 10 years ago.
Even though we are both now way outside their target demographic of teens and twenty-somethings we have been listening to our public broadcaster âyouthâ radio (Triple J) since the '80s (and it was JJ back then).
We were on our way to work and I guess it is a testimony to her maturity as a songwriter and singer, even back then, that when the announcer said â14 year oldâŠâ I heard 40 year old and said words to the effect, âlike us, too old for this stationâ.
SWMBO was quick to correct meâŠ
Similar here.
That is neither my favorite genre nor am I the target demographic, but she is talented and her music is⊠fascinating, for lack of better words.
I like her voice when she sings.
Her theme for No Time To Die was quite good.
I donât like whisper singing. I donât care if itâs her or whoever, singing should be from the diaphragm and the lungs, not the throat (or the nose!) and definitely not with the air you can store solely in your head.
If thatâs considered the âpopular styleâ, then I think itâs crap.
Hearing Finneas play the opening track made me want to get out the classical (electric) and do some finger picking.
One of Def Leppardâs lesser known, but damn good, songs. Itâs called Gods of War, off the SMASH 1987 album Hysteria.
This song always affected me strangely as a kid. Something about the mental imagery it evoked and the twisty way the words went around one another always set my mind into kaleidoscopic overdrive.
Yeah, I know: weird.
Just a light head-nodding toe tapper I bumped into on the internet, and no I have no idea what theyâre saying.
Solid Gold hit!
Those two songs are so closely related that you literally cannot mention one without someone mentioning the other.
