What we watching? – Mudspike at the movies

Been binge watching Night Court on IMDbTV the past few days. Another one I did not watch during its Network run.

I am up to season 2 episode 17 Battling Bailiff. The 30th episode of the series run.

I watched Cheers and Night Court (aired in same hour block for most of their runs) almost without fail in the 80s.
First time I ever heard of Mel Torme’ was Night Court!

Cheers is another one I rarely watched.

Along with Night Court I have added All in the Family and Sandford and Son to my viewing list in the last couple of weeks.

I never really cared about AitF, but I watched S&S quite a bit as well.

All in the family was well into it’s run before I was old enough to watch regularly. By then Archie had softened some and Edith was not willing to be his doormat all the time. Danielle Brisebois became a regular around that time too.

Saw Live-Action Aladdin on Disney plus last night.

I thought it was great! Why the hate?
Yes there’s no Robin Williams but… Guy Ritchie directed a great cast with lush visuals and a very nicely adjusted story.

Loved it. ^-^

I have to say Disney+ has quite a bit of mature content.

The first two seasons of Mr. Inbetween was really good stuff. So good I had to binge it in 3 evenings. Brutal, but I enjoy the Aussie mentality so much, mate!

They edit the films on the US version regularly. Look up the recent brouhaha about an F bomb in Adventures in Babysitting along with other edits. You’re expected to go to Hulu for the teenager and up stuff here.

Oh, didn’t expect that. It might be on Youtube, AppleTV or Google then.

May 25 Obi-Wan Kenobi - Disney+

Obi-Wan Kenobi? I wonder if they mean old Ben Kenobi…

Nah, he’s just a crazy old man.

I mean, as much as I’m excited for this series, can we start getting some Star Wars stories that DON’T take place on Tatooine? There were roughly 1 million systems in the Republic/ Empire, after all.

I’ll be blunt and say: we have seen how Star Wars fans react to stuff that isn’t heavily grounded in the OT.

This is just as sad as it is true.

I would argue that in my opinion elements pulled pretty much directly from EU sources (i.e. Rebels) has gone over well. Stuff that was basically a director copying OT work and making in shinier (i.e. JJ) has gone over less well.

I flew the Saab 2000 with Ewan MacGregors brother, or Obi 2 as he was known.

Binge watched the 8 episode first season of the Reacher series on Amazon in the last couple of days.

Enjoyed the series and will watch if there is a season two.

Ok cool. I was on the fence about this one, but I will probably take the chance now when I run low on other stuff.
