The Apartment (1960)

Not much of a comedy. I did find it to be a good movie worth at least one viewing but there was nothing funny about the subject matter.

I hope this is not out of place but Holy heck this is brilliant!

Watching Flying Soldiers again - it’s still on YT but I downloaded it a few years back - I wanted to have another watch before trying out the Gazelle in the latest DCS update. Get me in the mood - there’s actually some good general flying tips in the series.

Along the same vein…

If you know the book “Low Level Hell”, this is the same cast of characters including Hugh Mills.

My wife and I have wildly different tastes, but this is one show we can both agree on. Just finished watching Season 2.

The book is great as well.

I am a bit of a Gaiman fan and have read all (I think?) of Pratchett’s books

However, I didn’t tell the bride that the TV series was based on a book by a comic book writer and that other fellow who wrote all those ‘stupid’ magic stories. Otherwise she would never have watched it.

Damn! I loved the first season to no end… I keep forgetting they made a second.

This show has some of the best writing/acting I’ve ever seen.

Scrumptious!

I really liked the first season. The second season did contain some nice ideas, but somehow I was missing a leitmotif, the story seemed somewhat all over the place.

This show is made by the brilliant casting. Putting Tennant and Sheen together so they can play off their real-life friendship pays endless dividends.

It was like it didn’t matter how loopy or lame the plot was in a ST:TOS episode, watching Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelley work together made it a joy to watch from start to finish.

Heart of Stone

Several plot holes you could drive a battleship through but I still enjoyed the flick.

It was Mrs birthday on Friday and I told her we could watch any film she likes and I wouldn’t complain - even if it was “As Good As It Gets” (one of her faves).

To my amazement - and admiration - she chose Where Eagles Dare! Now that is the kind of wife everyone should have!

That’s true love!
Tell her she’s adding points towards the coveted Mudspike Spouse of the Year award.

–me sitting here having bought those films on DVD twice, Bluray, and then 4K with BD discs as well–

There is literally no Star Trek film out of the 13 that I haven’t purchased at LEAST twice.
I even have ST:TMP on 4k twice. Both the theatrical version in the boxed set and then the 2000 Director’s Cut special edition on 4K.
