We All Deserve To Be Happy…As long as we are not harming others I this pursuit…Let Love Rule
My 15 yr old daughter went with her friend to see it even though she wasn’t enthused about it. She had a doll or two growing up but never really cared that much (more a plushie you can cuddle with kid) but it was a friend excursion so she went.
She said “it was better than it had any right to be.” My 12 yr old and the rest of us haven’t seen it yet.
Talking of Layer Cake - RIP Michael Gambon, who died today. That’s the guy at the end of the clip “Welcome to the Layer Cake, son”
Atomic Blonde was incredible! Same with SALT.
I never thought I’d say this but I finally managed to watch the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe and… I had no idea that the acting in Endgame would go so hard!
It had no rights to be that good.
And so fkkcing emotional too! Watched it twice in two days and I had tears running down my face in so many different moments!
Probably the best Marvel movie so far. Ever.
Endgame was probably the best ending of a series I’ve ever seen.
Don’t feel bad. I haven’t seen a single one of them. Ever. I only saw Star Wars for the first time a couple years ago- because my (now) wife made me sit through a chronilogical marathon one weekend while we were dating.
It’s allright @Stormy801 we can cure you.
You probably haven’t realised yet but you have also wandered into one of the biggest dens of Sci-Fi nerds on the planet
Oh, I LOVE Star Trek and Stargate SG1. I am very much a nerd! We had FanX here last week and was irritated I couldn’t go.
Cool. It can be a bit like the Mos Eisley Cantina around here sometimes… Not so much the “Sorry about the mess” but there are some pilots you definitely need to keep a close eye on
Edit: Now that I think about it, a better analogy would be like “Casablanca without the Nazis”… and it keeps the sci-fi theme (From MiB IIRC?)
Don’t threaten me with a good time.
Not feeling bad at all. I’m not that type of person.
We use this thread to share feeling and opinions about movie and that what we are doing.
All good.
Not this is something that surprised me- I was born a Star Wars kid, but when I reached my late 30s/early40s I started to realize how much more Star Trek resonated with me…
As a matter of fact in this thread there should be a picture of me holding the whole 10-movie sizes DVD case of all the original Star Trek movies! I literally love them all.
When I will have the cash, I’ll also buy all the TV series.
Endgame was absolutely phenomenal.
On your left
Oh dear! Space cadets r us!
YES! Truly impressed how they managed to pack a three hours + movie with constant pearls.
I mean the beginning 120 seconds are an absolute gut punch.
I am still amazed how impressive the acting, the writing and the cinematography are!
So many still frames could be literally printed into paintings or used as Computer desktops.
The force is strong with her!
Who do you mean…?
I grew up with both. My parents were big ST fans and then took me to see SW in the theater. Then the ST films started coming out and we watched all of them, and when I was a teen TNG started and Ive watched every ep of every ST series ever. Then when Clone Wars and Rebels and Disney+ live SW series started I’ve watched all of them, too.
I even have the ST:Animated Series on DVD, so no one can accuse me of not being a fan!
I’ve also bought most of the films multiple times (VHS, LD, DVD, BD, 4K UHD for all the films in the 70s-90s, only DVD and later for the 21st century releases), I even bought ST: TOS 2x on DVD and then BD. I also have TNG, DS9, Voy, and Enterprise on discs. I just got Strange New Worlds S1 and I’m waiting for S2. I will get Picard and Discovery when they come out in 4K, I’m not getting them on BD when they aired in 4K! I may get Lower Decks on BD because there won’t be much difference there.
I still have the original SW trilogy on 2 different LD sets. The 97 special edition with 5.1 sound and the original letterbox THX set from 93 or 94 that has the original musical numbers in ROTJ. I also still have the 2005 DVD set and 2009 BD set in addition to the 2020 4K set.
In short, I have no problem with buying films or series again with improved quality/extras and I don’t dump the older ones if they have extras the new ones lack.
that’s rad. I’m imaging that’s probably one of the only ways to see the original before all the special editions?
I’ve been really wanting to watch them again as close to the original (as possible). My friend has them on widescreen VHS but I was hoping for something a little more easy on the eyes.
