Thats what worries me. Ive almost got to the point where i dont bother watching any new series on there any more.
Oldman seems to be laying it on a bit thick, but maybe they need to establish Jackson Lamb for new viewers?
Still, it is only the first episode and overall is OTT enough that I can let all the inaccuracies slide. Will keep watching.
RIPLEY looks excellent. Added…
Part of our healing is to watch another torment himself But I guess that in Lamb’s case, there is a fair amount of abusing others. Tough love.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was thoroughly enjoyable. Actually funnier than the original which was largely all about being bizarre with just a couple of laughs (which I rewatched the night before so it was fresh in my mind).
Plenty of callbacks to the original but even if you’ve never seen it they cover all the important parts in throwaway lines so you’re not left hanging.
If you had to sum the original film in one line, it could be: Day-O
If you had to sum up this one, it could be: MacArthur’s Park
I watched Rebel Hill yesterday on netflix. It was well made and I loved the work both the two leads and the main villain did. The pacing was on point and the action fun amd believable.
I feel a great disturbance in the force.
RIP James Earl Jones.
RIP to a very underrated actor. His very first film role was for the great Stanley Kubrick in Dr. Strangelove.
Possibly my all time favourite movie. I have lost count of how many times I have watched it. Even though (IMHO) it was one of Sellers greatest roles, Slim Pickens stole the show for me. So many great scenes, especially this one:
Slim Pickens was great in that flick. I also loved that he parodied the checklist reading he did in Dr. Strangelove in the movie 1941.

I love Slow Horses! Oldman rocks!
I have watched 3 seasons and will start on 4 soon,
Lots of great memories of his characters. Not just his voice, but for instance his portrayal of Adm. Greer in the Jack Ryan flicks…
From Strangelove, to his portrayal of ‘Thulsa Doom’ to his cameo on Big Bang Theory. He was larger than life and will be missed. Not just for his voice.
“Do you know the riddle of steel”
Great actor with an absolutely great voice
Recently rewatched “Lolita” by Stanley Kubrick. There are two things that always stun me about this film:
- Peter Sellars’ amazing performances.
- The fact that this film was made in 1962 considering the premise.
