TNG S2 does hold the dubious distinction of having the worst TNG episode ever: Shades of Grey aka “The One They Made During a Writers’ Strike.” Just awful.
There is an episode in S7 of TNG where they stop at DS9 and Bashir has a small role. So you really should start watching S1 of DS9 as historically they aired together.
Generations came out 6 months after TNG ended, during the first eps of S2 of DS9.
First Contact came out during the Dominion War in S5 of DS9/S3 of Voyager (so the Doctor has a cameo), yet the Enterprise is bizarrely not involved when the film starts or for that matter ever as far as anything that was shown.
Insurrection aired during S7 of DS9 and S5 of Voyager.
Nemesis came out just after Voyager ended (and Enterrpise’s S2) which is why you see the cameo of Admiral Janeway.
Not just because of the inclusion of Jeri Ryan in the cast But that is when it finally started to hit it’s straps and ditch the ‘Alien of the week’ theme in favour of actually getting on with getting back to the Alpha Quadrant.
Am i the only person in the world who doesn’t think dinklage is a great actor. Hes a great actor with a disability, granted. But i find him quite insufferable
Probably not the only. But I think he nailed Tyrion. And that wasn’t a sure thing even though the character was a favorite in the books as well. It took chops to make him both a Lannister and still worthy our empathy and respect. But yes maybe the writing alone did it. Anyway, Brothers certainly did him no favors.
NGL, I’ve been very disappointed in the music the last two seasons.
Except that DMX drop. That was spectacular, and I haven’t laughed that hard at a show recently (aside from the cold open from the second episode of this season of Abbott Elementary).
I misread the IMDB description of the episode in a way that has been typical of me lately. It said, “…forces the Cerritos crew to face their own faces.” I read, “forces the Cerritos crew to face their own feces.” The show is great. And although I haven’t seen it, I bet that episode fits right in with the rest. But I like my misread version better.
I barely remembered Peter from Elf, but I did remember the short-lived SF show he did with Brent Spiner about 20 years ago. Threshold I think it was?
TBH his character there wasn’t too dissimilar from Tyrion, but I think he’s just really good at portraying that type of character. He gets cast when they want those roles because he’s a natural at it.
But didn’t Jack Nicholson win Oscars and acclaim for playing Crazy Jack Nicholson or Endearing Jack Nicholson or Funny Jack Nicholson? I never forgot I was watching Jack Nicholson.
He’s no Gary Oldman. That man is a chameleon and also humble and brilliant. Deserves to have twice as many Oscars as Jack Nicholson.
I have seen bits and pieces of this movie over the years but last night was the first time I sat down and watched the movie in its entirety. It had a couple laugh out loud moments and it was a good movie but it is definitely dated. I’ll give it a solid 6 out of 10.
