What we watching? – Mudspike at the movies

I’ll have to hunt it down, then. That’s exactly what I’d expect from Twisted Metal; it’s grungey industrial trash from the late 90s and early 00s and I love it because it is.

ROFL they definitely nailed that down to a T

It’s streaming on Peacock, not sure if it’s anywhere else.
I agree, it was great fun but will no awards for being thought-provoking or having deep meaning.
Really loved Will Arnett’s voice work for the clown.

Alternate Realities and the Multiverse has been overused to death, Stargate dipped into then said Nah after a hand full of single story episodes and one dvd movie.

Even Star Trek did it.
Yesterday’s Enterprise was one of the best TNG episodes, too.

I… kinda disliked most of it tbh.
I see its appeal, but it isn’t for me.
Same goes for the mirror universe episodes, I just don’t like them.

the whole “Mirror Verse”, which was started in ToS, and Survived through TNG and Mentioned in Voyager, though Allegedly destroyed by Lorca during Discovery, but Mirror Ships continued to Appear in SNG after that date, as well as Section 31 Movie and even in Picard.

Come to find out, Discovery never happened in the “Prime” timeline, it was an alternate timeline and an alternate “Mirror”.

During one of a recent visit to one of my brothers, we watched the first 3 episodes of Landman. It was typical Taylor Sheraton (think Yellowstone), but set in Texas oil country. We found it very entertaining, but since I don’t have a Paramount+ sub, will need to wait.

Nope, Discovery is in the prime timeline.

The series finale of Lower Decks had people theorizing that was “prime” and what was not was going to be shuffled about.

Nope, it’s prime, confirmed by multiple sources.

Considering that article is from 2018 just after the conclusion of season 1, spends more time highlighting inconsistencies with the Prime universe than supporting it and ends with:

"The practical upshot of all this is that, yes, all the talk seems to say that Discovery is in the Prime timeline. Although we’re still really lacking any real definitive event or character to incontrovertibly prove it - there are huge inconsistencies we’ve still yet to see explained and all the talk from the showrunners still leaves room for a new universe or timeline. "

And. The Lower decks ‘erasure’ occurs in Dec 2025… I’m inclined to go with the Discovery is not Prime hypothesis.

It’s not an erasure. Even Mike McMahan conceded that. Geez. Get over it.

Dude. Not cool.

Apologies, I’m just so damned tired of Discovery haters latching onto any little thing to malign the show. It’s exhausting.
