What Did You Do in the War, Daddy?
Not sure if it is because I had seen the movie several years ago and knew most of the story or I have just gotten old but I did not find it nearly as funny as I remembered. There were still a few laugh out loud moments though.

Some films to get us through the current crisis…
Outbreak (1995) - sorry, Dustin Hoffman may be a great actor but he is not a believable Army LTC
Contagion (2011)
Jennifer Ehle’s best role since Pride & Prejudice (BBS mini-series version)
The Omega Man (1971) staring Charlton Heston and/or I am Legend (2007) staring Will Smith …basically the same movie, albeit one is set in LA and the other in NYC
The Andromeda Strain (also 1971…I wonder if they knew what was coming
) …evidently also a 2008 miniseries that, according to Wikipedia, " is a “reimagining” of the original novel rather than an adaptation."…er…so…it probably sucks…
The Stand (1994, miniseries) - Stephen King at his best. Also Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s best role since Airplane!
However…
The plot centers on a pandemic of a modified strain of influenza that almost entirely kills the world’s population. - Wikipedia

Feels weird watching english dubbed Anime.
John Madden: A Football Life
I had forgotten how bad he was as a broadcaster when he first started. Took him time to hit his stride that I do not believe most would be given today.

Harley davidson and the marlboro man… Great movie…before Mickey Rourke went a bit bonkers
A bit is being extremely kind…

A Classic Tanahashi vs Okada match-up (now working!)
Sometimes it worked! IMO the new True Grit is as good as the old one, maybe even better.
Jeff Bridges For Teh Winz.
Yeah the movie would be a lot worse without him, he did a great job.
Surprisingly every single one of the companion actors was absolutely stellar!
It was the movie that made me realize that I am apparently a fan of the Coen Brothers.
I didn’t notice it first, but when I looked them up after seeing True Grit I noticed that I had seen a few of their movies lately (Amazon Prime recommended them) and liked all of them.
- Oh Brother Where Art Thou
- No Country for Old Men
- The Big Lebowski
…I guess I have to go watch some others and see if I like those as well.
The only one you mentioned that left me cold was “No country for old men”…
Somehow I felt it was much less consequential and enjoyable than the rest of the Coen Brothers…
