Sunset on my way home this monday:

It was already pretty windy but right now it’s really blowing (gusts around Bft 10-12). And the cat still wants to go outside :face_with_monocle: She’s weird sometimes.

Portrait of the general as a young man.

The roof/shelter I built some seven years ago for the family bikes blew away. Well it tries. I caught it, put it flat on the ground and weighed it down with some stuff lying around.

I reckon me and the boys are going to building a bunch of fences the coming weeks

Command and Conquer is a thinker’s game. That kid has a future!

Just got power back, it’s been out since around 1pm.

One tree down, is hung up quite awkwardly, so will have to deal with that tomorrow.

I had to go out around 4pm and clear a fallen tree that had blocked the road.

Snow is now due tomorrow.

Had a nice opportunity to give an IOE flight to one of our new PC-24 pilots…lots of approaches, holds, missed approaches, closed circuits… Fun to do some abnormal flying…

Ummm @BeachAV8R, if that’s what you think a penis is supposed to look like then might I recommend a doctor?

IOE is some of the most interesting flying I’ve done. Being able to share your own tips and lessons learned about operating the jet in the real world (the stuff the training centers never seem to figure out), and watch someone new to it learn to appreciate its strengths, foibles, and traps (not that there’s many of those in the airframes I’ve flown) is extremely rewarding. Fun stuff, and I’m jealous because it’s been a couple years since I’ve gotten to do much of that.

Haha…I sent that same sentiment to one of our other pilots: “Apparently one needs to join the Navy to become proficient at drawing the legendary sky penis…”

Another rainy afternoon so I’m joining my girlfriend in drawing.

Her drawing:

My sketches so far, from the very first attempt:

I got inspired by this picture and started trying to draw A-7 and F-8 together, then decided to focus on A-7 first.

I’m particularly proud of the last one. That is an initial quick sketch, no erasing. I think the A-7’s shape is finally getting into my fingers.

Not as proud as I am of the first picture of course
