I first read that as Moulin Rogue and thought you were at a Tom Clancy play…
I just realised how awesome our old hand-me-down mixer is - it’s got “BURST OF POWER” and “EJECTOR” buttons!
Almost makes me want to learn to bake - this thing has a good 1960s supersonic feel to it.
In Russian, that button would even have the same word on it as afterburner ( форсаж )
Checking out a local glider club and got 10 minutes behind the stick. I want to get my license but Japan’s medical check is absurdly strict and stuck in the 1930s. Almost as bad as FAA 1st class (just for a glider!) and waivers only recently became a thing. If they waive me for my IBD I’ll still have to get checked and cleared twice a year
I had one of those! Mum got grandmas old mixer when she moved out, and I got it when I moved out… Made in the 60’s. It was the plastic that gave up in the end, not the mechanical or electrical parts.
I can’t believe how many fingerprints are on our six panels in the Pilatus jets…God it drives me insane.
Finished with my first PC24 recurrent six months after my initial type. With some operational experience under my belt…it felt much more natural to be in the sim. I’m at least partially competent. I’m still amazed at all the whiz-bangery it can do…but sometimes I just click the stuff off and fly it old school. You know you are in a next gen plane when you have to go through three menus to find a DME hold feature… (new kids asking what’s that for??!)…
I have to admit I don’t think I ever used DME Hold outside of the sim. Thinking about it…the last time I flew a raw data NDB approach was on my instrument checkride back in 2004. I am a true child of the Magenta line .
I would rage quit!
Lol, imagine the NTSB report.
NO TOUCHING!
You’ll only break it anyway
Some transient action last week.
USMC Harvest HAWK KC-130J
UH-60M making a dramatic departure
And a pair of SC ANG Vipers after a QRA launch. They were carrying live missiles.
Looks like an area where people’s heads might break off those switches.
Surprised that UH60 is flying with what appears to be ice on the main rotor blades? I would assume those being airfoils are just a susceptible to airflow disruption from contaminants. I don’t know nothin’ about helicopters…just find it amazing if that isn’t an issue…
