I once went to germany with a Cat D9 bulldozer on the back. Over loaded on 4 axles. Total weight over by 15 tons. Over height. Over length.
Had so many flashing orange lights and “convoi exceptionell” signs all over it that the police didnt even slow down to look
Makes the trip out there seem to take forever but the trip back goes in a flash

Just wrapping up 3 days in Arizona. Caught AF1, Yuma based F-5s and F-35Bs, a British C-130J, RCAF Hornets, multi-country F-35As and the last of the F-16s at Luke AFB. Pics will be coming once I get home tomorrow.

Isn’t that trailer excessively long? How to you make 90 degree corners, particularly on 2 lane roads, without clipping another vehicle or curb?
It’s your standard 53’ trailer. A truck driving instructor once told me, “All these lines on the road … only meant for cars. Disregard.” … he was Polish.

Ok, so I’m jumping into Dec 7th. Heard there was a RAF C-130J operating from a small California airfield. It was only about 2.5 hours from Phoenix and slightly out of the way from Yuma. So I set off at 0400. The manager wouldn’t let me on the ramp for a beautiful full moonset behind it, so I waited for the coming sunrise.
Next, made the 1.5 hour run to Yuma, knowing I’d already missed the morning launch and recovery. The F-5s only fly 30 minute sorties since they dont carry aux tanks. So, I had to wait awhile.
Caught these over the day.

Wow. I’ve never seen a C-5 but I’ve been inside a C-17 once and that wasn’t a small aircraft. The C-5 must be massive in person.
