Luv it! In the early '80’s my Dad bought a Lada as a runaround and described the colour as “dysentery yellow”

He wouldn’t let me drive it, though

I love your optimistic attitude. This is going to be hilarious when i finally snap and unveil it.

Point of order, the roll cage (half of it) did come from a period appropriate rally car. But i have had to cut and shut it to fit the unique lines of my vehicle…

I know that you said two doors, but isn’t a sunroof sort of a door? Look at all of the chrome on that little minx.

I remember seeing these everywhere a few (possibly more) years ago

Which one? I had the Delta HF 4WD. I never thought I would buy one, but was unable to get hold of a quattro at the time - though I made an offer on one, I heard nothing back. Just after buying the Delta I got a phone call telling me the quattro was available. Probably a good job I didn’t buy it - the Delta was totalled after a few weeks when some guy in an Audi 100 smashed me up the rear.

I guess you mean either the S4 or Integrale?

The Bubble Car museum is not far away in Norfolk. Some of the Triumph Owners Branch guys went there a few weeks back and we’re planning a trip there later in summer.

They said that it’s a great day out and for just 25 quid you can drive any of a number of the cars.

Pretty weather in .nl this week. I got to build a thing:

These people have a pergola like structure that was also used as a swing for the kids. The wood was rotting, and it was becoming very unsafe as a swing. As you can see it has a gloriously huge wisteria on it, very old, very tough and they asked me to leave it intact as much as possible. So I redid the thing:

Not only will this be a far better, stronger swing, I also managed to keep the wisteria entirely intact. We sort of pushed in the new bits of wood in place where the old bits were, bit by bit, until we removed all of the old bits and the new structure took the load.

I am tired, my arms are chafed raw from having to work in close proximity to the harsh bark of the vines but I’m pretty well chuffed with this result.

The HF 4WD is a 2.0 turbo engine, of course with 4WD. The amount of power you got depended on the engine management chip. 165, 200 or 230PS. I was content with 165

Somewhere I had a picture of one just like mine as well as some others I had - couple of Audi Coupés for example - one was a gorgeous blue GT 5E - I swapped my newish Volvo 340 GLE for one and my ex-wife was not happy at all! Mostly cos she didn’t have the luxury of rear doors for fitting the child seat and occupant. I didn’t care - it was my dream car at the time (that I could afford). I had to sell it when I decided to stay in Deutschland cos I’d bought it tax-free and would have had to cough up quite a bit. So later got myself a German registered white GT 5S. Wasn’t as good, but was good enough

While we are waiting for photos, I’ll take a stab…

Assuming the wheels are from the factory and not a Subi… Audi or BMW? But they might be a bit ‘up market’ and you will have to hand in your Chav badge if it is :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Borrowed one. Winter, heavy snow. Very cold. Driving along at night it needed the heater to keep the windscreen clear. You could see the engine temp go down followed by engine stop. Only way to keep it running was to use choke as well as heat.

Actually I think you’re right - that is the one. I don’t know why I was thinking of Norfolk. Probably cos the guy telling us was on about having ridden there after Hunstanton.

They are talking of doing a trip to the museum from Skegfest this year (which I don’t attend) but because of its small size (the museum) it may be overwhelmed, so that remains a doubt. In any case we’ll be doing a branch trip there later in the year. Not something I’d have been interested in if it weren’t for his report - he was obviously very impressed with it.

PS - I go through Langrick very often - every time I go to the BBMF for a start - and I’ve never seen this, or anything indicating it’s there. I know there is an American style cafe thing there with a yellow cab and maybe a cop car, but that’s all. I’ll have to have a closer look next time I’m passing.

Just up the road from the bubble cars there used to be an interestingly named American cafe with a US cop car outside. It didnt reopen for long after lockdown. Its on the banks of the river Witham. The name, Witham and Blues.

I keep threatening to take my wife to see the bubble cars
