Where Are You Photos [2023]

We also have a lot of local flooding, but we also made sure we bought a house near the top of the hill!

A flood relief drainage ditch runs behind our back fence and we’ve been on to the local flood warden about it being chock full of rubbish from a local truck park many times, but he just gets fobbed off by the council. If there ever is a real disaster round here, I’ll make sure the victims get to know about it - I have evidence from the warden (who sadly passed away in the meantime, so can’t provide evidence himself now).

In my previous home in a village, the village itself was built below sea level. Was a bit concerning, but I was on the local Rural Action Committee and knew the guy who was responsible for the flood defences. He assured me they were up to snuff. That was 25 years ago and they didn’t flood yet.

I don’t know about that, but if you jump off a nearby cliff you can probably get to the top of the flagpole and pull the flag down.

Some varied tourist things in the UK. Wells Cathedral was magnificent and, of course, I loved the Fleet Air Arm museum.

You are making me homesick. I used to live just up the road from Yeovilton. My younger brother was based there through the 90’s and worked as a civilian on base from 98-2003.

Before you miss it too much, I just spent an hour going 10 mph in roadworks on the A303, so there’s that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It is a beautiful part of the world, the green landscape and the light, really nice if you’ve been away for a while like I have.

Looking forward to sleeping one hour longer on Monday. Will probably get up at 7AM tomorrow

The bales have finally cooled, so it’s time to stack them.

Part way through.

All done and secure. The hurdles are to stop the bastage sheepdogs peeing on them.

All told this took 2-3 hours due to making sure you don’t hit anything else on the barn, like your workbench, welding gear or log pile.

By the end of it I was drenched in sweat from concentrating and manoeuvring the tractor. I much prefer Farming Simluator in this regard.

Lol :joy:. Great spot. :+1:

They both need a service. Ideal time now as it’s cold. I’ve 40L of hydraulic that I’m picking up this week. The JD drinks it, the spools are worn and probably in need of replacement.
