Another balmy SoCal day.

And people wonder why their pets bite them
Whenever people here in Germany wonder why Americans have AC everywhere I show them such a post.
At one point around 3:30 pm the high temperature yesterday was 118F/47C. It would be worse if I was in the South and I had the humidity to compliment the high temps though.
According to the weather forecast it is supposed to be brutal again today. 111F/44F.
Not even 6:30 am and it is still 83F/28C.

Hello Limburg
I really hope Germany can get to a similar level for bike infrastructure at some point…
We have been enjoying some much cooler temperatures here in Austin TX. This time last year it was over 100°F … this morning, 73°F. All things considered we had a pretty mild summer.
First day done, arrived at blue woods camping south of s’Hertogenbosch. Unfortunately we only have three days due to some unforeseen circumstances so we’re not gonna make it to the north sea. Nevertheless the Netherlands are a cyclists dream!
Oh come on, for a cyclist like you 's Hertogenbosch is like half a day from the sea, even less maybe!
Yeah, but not everyone in our group is like me
If I was alone I would have ridden to the North Sea in one day, rest day today and back home tomorrow but one of the guys in our group wouldn’t have made it, one would take the train home and only my brother in law possibly would have been able to ride both legs of the trip with me
The freedom of riding, whether it is human or engine powered is a sublime thing.
I have been riding (motorcycles) with the same group of ratbags since 1997. Sometimes there are only 4 of us, sometimes as many as 20 including pillion passengers. Sometimes it will be a day trip, other times it will be for a few weeks.
We have very few rules. But #1 is everyone rides at their own pace. That means that sometimes I am carving through the countryside with a group. Other times I could be by myself for most of the day.
It isn’t about the destination, it is all about the journey. Sublime.
Something I haven’t done for a few years now and really need to do again soon…
Yeah… There’s something about going somewhere, without the pressure of getting there.
The means of transportation just becomes a personal preference.
It’s surprisingly close, at my pace it’s only a 6hr bikeride from s’hertogenbosch! And I think that’s google being cautious as well, though obviously it doesn’t factor in coffee and stroopwafel breaks
I would have taken the train both ways

Just a touch! Did you have a dive in a mud bath?
