01:50 on Sunday morning and I’ve just walked in the house. After being called an “asshole" by a customer at 10pm for not being able to fix his roadside breakdown AS I DIDNT HAVE THE TYRE HE NEEDED IN STOCK.

Just before Christmas I got a complaint made against me …you couldn’t make this s*** up
We have the last peak train (expensive one) at 09:05 so after that train leaves we put the automatic gates to exit because the next train is off pesk( cheaper) is at 09:34
Now the automatic gates will still charge you peak prices until 09:30 which is why we put them to exit until 09:30
Most people will come up and ask if there is a problem and why they can’t touch in ..to which I reply -“its cheaper to touch in after 9;30” they say “ oh cheers for letting me know”
but this one woman comes up and after I say it’s cheaper after 930 she says “so I can’t touch in now”
I said “ only if you want to pay more than you need to”
She huffs and walks off
a week later I get a phone call from the boss saying a woman complained that we refused her entry and took away her choice to travel when she wanted to
so effectively I got a complaint for saving someone money
The disconnect from reality that some people have is just astounding.

Yesterday we had this beautiful weather for some sea ice walking. Temperature at about -20C (-4F), but did not even feel so cold in the sun.

Pretty rare event for the Carolinas. You might have to go back a couple decades before you find snowfall amounts like we have seen over the past 36 hours. We got about 8” out to the east of Charlotte while up to the northeast of Charlotte they got 15+. The Carolinas will be largely immobilized for a week after this.
