Where to fight the next Mudspike DCS Multiplayer event?

This maybe a bit premature, but I figured with the lunar sale going on this might be a good time to figure out what the plans are after we finish the current operation in the Persian Gulf. I have zero idea what all is available as far as “scenarios” like Foothold or similar, so I’ll let someone who knows more about the multiplayer side of DCS address that issue.

I can copy and paste a list of DCS terrains into a poll, which I shall now do. Please pick 3. This is certainly not locking us into anything, but I figure it will give us a good starting point (and maybe an excuse to get a new terrain or two during the sale…)

Germany in 1989! Phantoms and Hogs, sparrows on eagles, lots of Mirages.

I don’t have anything from DCS past 2022 (about February that year I think) so no Germany, Kola, Phantom or Chinook etc for me. Can’t do it, sorry

But Germany is sooo good! (and I do want you on board) Syria then? or maybe South Atlantic? Definitily cold war tho, I’m sick of SA-15s.

I really appreciate that, but do go on without me and pick what’s best. The map and new modules look awesome. Pointless gestures are a truly personal thing and I’m not advocating anyone else doing anything for sure.

I’m still in my emo ‘My personal Steam boycott will work this time’ phase for DCS. I just got over it enough to play the stuff I bought before, but it still feels a bit ick. It makes no sense really, so it’s not like I can rationally argue about it either. Plus we live next door to a nice Ukrainian family here in Canada so I can’t let them know etc.

So it’s Syria then? I think that I heard him say Syria.

lol, no. I would have voted Normandy as well but apparently there was a sequel but in the same place? Better hedges I guess, the people love it.

Anyway, I reckon ol’ @BeachAV8R when he lands and turns on his 5G and has a look through his modules list might have a sway on this.

Whatever the map, going back an era sounds fun, even if it means I have to AIM-7 sparrow like keeping a lock is a useful skill - cranking!

My thinking is …west Germany because it’s just soo damn good,

South Atlantic because haven’t flown it enough and it can do most things, naval ops ground ops with some very nice scenery.

Syria a general good performance map

would have put kola but distances are a bit far for quick flights

Question of ethical latitude : you won’t buy (and I respect that) anything ED / DCS and I respect that, but… if you received a gift, would you refuse it?

You can also buy the F-4 directly from Heatblur. And add some nice merch if you’re already there

I don’t even consider ED a russian company any more. The couple of core staff I knew when I was a mod/beta tester have long emigrated.

To where? I mean where are they mostly located? When we buy a module, where does that money go? 1C makes a similar claim. They are in Cyprus* supposedly. Cypriot banks are well known to have close ties to Russia’s political elite. And if you visit 1C’s website, the language and content are decidedly Russian. That’s all fine. They are citizens of the world same as I am. But why is what was once so clear (the HQs of both development teams) now so vague?

*Or is it Malta? The med is a big mystery to me.

Georgia, mostly.

That would be a lovely change from Moscow.
