I can’t get over how they butchered the plural of the word Brot. It’s spelled “Brote”.

I almost got offended when they described Käse Spätzle as “German mac 'n cheese” but… they actually aren’t that far off I guess.

Käse Spätzle is one of my favorites. :yum:

That said, it not that easy trying to explain it to other Americans, and I also usually resort to “It’s German mac’ n cheese” :grimacing:

We forgive you.
As long as you don’t do that thing Americans are sometimes reported doing… putting ketchup on it.
Seriously, I hope that’s a myth.

Alas it is not. They don’t do it with the Käse Spätzle, only regular Spätzle…which is a travesty to be sure.

I would alternate between something with Käse Spätzle (or sometimes a just a big bowl of Käse Spätzle) and Jagerschnitzel mit Spätzle because then you could mix the gravy in with the Spätzle. :yum::yum:

Käsespätzle are amazing! Which reminds me - I need to make some this weekend. So guess what I’m buying tomorrow? That’s right! Flour, eggs, cheese and onions. Lots of it!

Edit:

Thanks
