I can attest this works 100 percent of the time.
I used to leave the passat in gear with the handbrake off as I was worried about the battery going flat and causing this problem. Unfortunately the clutch needs to be pressed to start the car and wifey nearly came through the front wall of the house a couple of times so I was stopped from doing this procedure.
We don’t have those over here.
The rear, slightly to somewhat dimmer running lights yes. But not the rear fogs.
I always just lightly tap the brakes if someone’s too close.

I don’t do “on or by foot” I trained up to a very high level to join a particular branch of the military when I was young and when I broke my arm and didn’t get in, I vowed it was vehicular transport or I’m not moving anymore. I will do exercise but I will ■■■■■ about it and make it miserable for everyone in the vicinity

If anyone wants any useless information about this particular monster of a beast of a vehicle. I am something of a “worlds biggest fan” of Oshkosh HETT.
I used to drive one of these a lot when i was a kid, helping out at a farm in the mountains. It may take a while but it gets you absolutely everywhere.
Did they put enough wheels on that? I think those are rookie numbers! What is it for? Transporting MAUS tanks?
My mate tom was in Afghanistan, he told me a story of a huge sandy hill. They needed to get 10 trucks and a MBT up said hill. 4 tonners, 8x8 MAN off road trucks, land rovers, even motorcycle out riders failed.
HETT climbed the hill. With a 30 ton trailer and 62 ton challenger 2 on its back.

What does the acronym stand for? HeavyEnemyTankTransporter? Shouldn’t it be hauling T-64’s then? 
Speaking of trucks with weird acronyms, what does HEMMT stand for? And do you really see those ultradoubleplus size trucks on airports like you do in DCS? They do seem rather… impractical to me.

Yep. You see the ones at the airports. OSHKOSH mostly make them although in the UK we have them made by Dennis and they are powered by the same Gas turbine as a chinook.
so how many horses are in those things? How many gears? Or do they top out at 25? Must be hella fun to drive one of them beasties!
Russians do it properly. That MAZ has about 600HP and an epic amount of stuff underneath it to keep it moving in any situation.
Compared to the HETT its very agricultural and slow on road, latest HETT has 840Hp 18 litre CAT C18 and a 55mph cruise speed.
Tug of war would be interesting. I think the Russian would win. But I would rather be sat in the HETT.
Interestingly the HETT has a 6 speed allison gearbox with a transfer and drop box to give it a few low ratios to play with. It basically has enough torque to not need more.
The Maz has 5 gears and such low ratios that it is basically impossible to stall the engine. If it gets stuck enough to stop it the wheel rims will start to spin inside the tyres and tear itself to bits. Very clever design using old school power.
HETT rocks though. I want one before I die. Thats the ultimate dream of mine. Just the tractor though not the trailer.

this would also only work with a front wheel drive… if you tried it with a rear wheel you may take out the windows of the house across the road with two fast flyling trays 
Hey, I hauled one of those Hagglunds back to the maintenance shop for service, back when I was in Lebanon. We picked it up at a small observation post in the mountains, and I had to drive it down the rather steep trail from OP to the flatbed my self.
Never sat in the thing before, but it was pretty straight forward to drive, as I recall it.
