That is a clear indication that you live in too flat a country. You should definately move somewhere that taxes both chain rings equally. ![]()
Yep, the small ring barely sees any action, it even has some of that black coating left on its teeth and the cassette is only really worn on the smaller cogs from 17T down to 13T, the bigger cogs and to a lesser extent both the 12T and 11T cogs look almost new.
You should bring him to meet the Stick Figure’s dog Cocoa…
Here’s a pic of him at Red Rocks last week…looked pretty chill…
OMG this is the best thing ever!!!
Speaking of recent acquisitions … AIR TOOLS! …
Got a really good deal on them too. I thought the set only came with the four tools but read “71 pieces” on the box so I opened the case and got a nice surprise.
I kinda wish I saw you water-skiing in that gorgeous pic Bear.
The velocity is there!
Do you live in the Auckland area @Bearhedge?
Yes, in the North Shore of Auckland.
A friend couple of ours is staying at a summer house on Waiheke while their new house is being built - we took the ferry over for the weekend to go see them. It rained for most of the weekend but the weather changed just as we left! Typical. ![]()
Nice airtools are awesome!
Aaah, I hate it when that happens… Good luck fixing!
Oh man, that looks terrible, I hope you can get it fixed. Good luck!
I’m in the process of replacing the drivetrain atm:
Should have done this months ago.
I’ve got to take the chainset off, the chain is jammed completely.
Unfortunately I can’t get enough leverage with my ride tools, so I’ve dispatched the emergency services (Mrs Keets) for recovery.
Nice drivetrain BTW. ![]()
It’s cartainly a good idea to change the chain and the cassette as well. ![]()
How many km did you ride on that chain?
I’ll have to give you a shout if I find myself in Auckland (which does happen occasionally).
Yep, I already pulled the chain off and replaced the cassette. I had the chain on for about 4000km. I also used the opportunity to clean all those usually hard to reach places.
Normally I change chains every 2000-3000km but decided to leave this one on until I change everything else as well.
oooh a torquewrench! Nice!
