Ship and train. I used to come in the back gate off Remount Road, and i remember seeing Apaches and M-1’s on flatbed train cars just inside the gate, and it wasn’t unusual for MSC ships to be docked a couple miles down river.
Granted, this was also pre-9/11…
We’d get the weapons aboard ship via UNREP or VERTREP on pallets, and yes, they were disassembled when they were brought aboard, until they were about to be loaded on the secondary weapons elevators (the mess decks doubled as weapons assembly areas).

In Spite of the Horrible Summer, Qatar is super nice the rest of the year. This “winter” has been super cold though. It was 10C at night for almost a week. The days were between 12 and 15C. My room is on the side of the building that gets no sun so I had to put a heater in my room because I could not sleep.
As weather goes, we barely get any variations. It might rain 10 times a year and its always in the winter months. There is a sandstorm two or 3 times a year. That is it. In my years of going to the Losail International circuit I had ONE track day cancelled because of weather. So when I see you guys in real winter, I see I cannot complain.
