X-Plane 11 Screens

The VC10 was not really well known for buzzing the tower  .

It was extremely well known for shaking roof slates off my house and setting car alarms off

It certainly wasn’t quiet :anguished:

Have you tried the emergency landing capability? Sounds pretty cool.

On the Aerobask Robin?

My bad. I confused it with the EGLC scenery.

From the ORBX site:

We have also included Dynamic Fire & Rescue response. This means that the fire service will respond when an aircraft emergency is declared on approach and fire trucks will deploy to your aircraft position once on the ground!

Actually … I could use something like this when flying the Viggen in DCS…:open_mouth:

That’s a pretty cool feature. I wonder how you declare an emergency.

Emergency squawk code I would say?

Nice! How does that compare to the DCS Huey in terms of handling?

Probably less people shooting at you…what?

It’s a 412, so obviously a bit more powerful and heavier. But IMO, the flight model lacks some fidelity compared to DCS. Let’s call it somewhere in the middle between FSX/P3D and DCS. That’s not to say that it is bad, but it’s a little bit easier to fly than the DCS UH-1.

That sounds about right.

It is interesting - I can’t quite put my finger to it, but somehow DCS flight models just seem to have a bit more detail. I haven’t got any direct comparisons, as I don’t have any same planes on both platforms, but somehow after flying XP for a while and sitting back into DCS you notice it. Everything’s just has a bit more of a sense of inertia or something.

Like the pendulum behaviour in the Huey, for example - I’d be interested to compare and see whether you can get the same ‘feel’ of it in the XP version.

moved to more appropriate thread

I think you have me wrong there. I am not holding any model above the standard of plausible. If you’ve seen me besmirch a plane or helicopter, it is because it failed to stay within the four corners of believable physics.

(Ahh…moved…oh well I am not going to run and chase it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Ok, I didnt know you could do this!!! had to be done. I launched almost directly over my house so hopefully NASA will pay for my new roof

I really REALLY love the insane fighter pilot flight model this has. its so stupid and unbelieveable but MY GOD I love KC-10’s i wish i had a study level model of this or DC-10/MD-11

I broke down and bought the HD version of ORBX Oregon. It is gorgeous…I can see I’ll be doing a lot of flying betwee Oregon and Washington now…

I picked up the SD version because I am out of room on my dedicated X-Plane 1TB SSD. I also wanted to take a look at how it looks. I only had a short time to try it before I had to head out on the road again, so I’ll try it a bit more before making an assessment. Ultimately I suspect that I will be picking up another SSD in the not too distant future.

And sometimes you just want to do some simple circuits around your home field, because it’s been a while since you hopped in.

…and then realize your home field looks incredibly ugly compared to real life, so until you find a suitable scenery pack, to move to a more picturesque location:
