That’s cool!
Many thanks to Marcelo Borras who creates custom paint schemes for some X-Plane modules:
I’ve been shopping again …
I haven’t really had a chance to thoroughly test it out, but so far the VSkyLabs R66 is really nice. The Seychelles scenery isn’t bad, but I have to say that OrbX has thoroughly spoiled me. There is a lot to explore. I stumbled upon that helipad on one of the islands, which was neat. The scenery is also pretty VR friendly. Think carefully before buying would be my advice. For about the same price you could pick up TrueEarth Florida which I would say is the better product at first glance.
I bet that R66 is a sweet flying machine IRL.
Anytime I load up the FlyJSim 727, I swear it is the nicest module ever made for X-Plane…those sounds…so delicious…
There was, however, an incident…
It may be an incident to you, but to me it’s the most glamours way to bring in an aircraft! It just screams a bravado and carelessness that is the 80’s!
Eastern and National Airlines used to take their 727s into Key West…a fairly short runway. Which is why I had to try it… My first attempt didn’t work out great. I had a lot of crosswind and got a bit low and slow…
We used them to go into Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae and Phonpei. All pretty short. In the '90’s we switched to the 737-800 which lands considerably faster.
…(sniff)…getting a bit nostalgic here…
Eastern Airlines, what a great place to work as a young man! They forced you to work with the meanest people and hang out with them in strange hotels.
EAL was the first US carrier to fly the Airbus.
Of course it had other benefits like working the KSLC trip with a B757 Capt who kept his CFII current so he could sign your log book as instrument dual.
Parked at the gate before heading to KDEN. Kept my skis at the Salt Lake Marriott for 3 years in their luggage room.
And the B727 was a hell of a bird with outstanding crews, since they flew in the NE all winter. These guys were good.
Simply Awesome!
That satisfied grin says it all. King of the jungle.
Haha…I struck a gold mine! That is awesome…
I see what you did there…
No actually I didn’t do that but, yes, considering that the 80’s were a “nose candy” fraught decade, I see how you may have thought that. Good one.
(Who is Laird Hamilton?)
A legend among mere mortals when it comes to surfers. My neighbors in Pacific Beach had a 6-foot tall poster of him riding the frontside tube of an epic wave off I think the North Shore.
Sort of like King Neptune…
