It really is fun to fly, and while not at the Just Flight Hawk standard, it is very fluid in VR. Something to tear down the valleys with just for the sheer joy of flying low and fast.

Testing out Global Forests Volume 2 North America.
Previously I was using Xtreme Trees East and West, which I was impressed with, but it only covered the US. This package covers all of the North American continent. For $15 this gets a big thumbs up from me.

I had only time for quick look around KAXQ and it looks better than default I can say. Will see further down the road. I mean looking forward to see more
For Europe I use free X-EUROPE 4 from sim Heaven (they use actual open street map data for objects placement).
Wondering if that Vol1 will be that improvement there. Could be in regards to variety of the tree types I guess.

Couple issues:
- I’m not entirely sure how to work the G1000 and input flight plans so I just used the D key and put in LAX. Seems I at least made it to the coast so progress is being made.
- Lets just say things got real interesting when I crossed over the threshold at LAX wondering why she wouldn’t quit shouting “Gear Down”.
Needless to say the Coronavirus has cost me a few hundred dollars in Xplane toys, but has showed me parts of a game I never thought I would enjoy. I’ve owned XP11 for several years and never played it more than 20 minutes.

I know what you mean. I’ve owned the DCS Viggen for a couple of years and never flown it more than 20 minutes…for different reasons but…same-same.

The free Vulcan has received an update. I can hardly wait for the Just Flight Vulcan, but this one is very nice in the meantime.

Not much of a performance gain I can tell with the 11.50 over Chicago with Meigs custom scenery but still great to see many familiar places, and still many places I missed back then

I picked up the SSG 747-800 v2 in the current sale. I’m not usually a ‘heavy’ guy, but I really want the freighter version, which will be coming free sometime soon for existing v2 owners. When I have learned the Viggen to a decent level, I will hopefully get a chance to get to know this one properly (and the 767)…

Flying over parts unknown in the Alps
Weird water texture stuff happening crossing the channel. Probably has to do with the Orbx South England scenery

Nice little flight from Buochs in Switzerland to Southampton. Buochs is really one of the coolest airports in the game. The mountains are excellent, and the runway leads out into a lake.

An awesome airport. It is the initial airport I used in Pilate’s Ghost for flights 1, 2, & 3.
In fact In drew up my own approach plate for the first flight. This worked well wit the default FSX scenery and my airport enhancements - I bet it will be great in XP11!

lol, just yesterday I realized that there is checkbox in graphic settings to enable the new VULKAN rendering, now I can finally see The ‘new world’ and sure theres some performance gain also on my side.

Question…
Is it worth me reinstalling x plane 11? I recently cleaned my pc up and only have DCS on there at the moment.
Is the performance gain worth it?

The performance gain is very noticeable, but the beta is a bit rough around the edges in some respects (it is the first beta after all). Some plugins and aircraft are not working 100% for example… but Vulkan makes much more of a difference in performance than I was expecting, especially as they made it sound like the gains on a Nvidia card would be modest…
