X-Plane Releases Thread (2021)

Eventually, much of this X-Plane goodness will get ported over to MSFS. Three years is a very long time to work on a project. Granting access to your product to millions of users currently closed off to it seems like a necessary next step to me.

FlyJSim Dash-8 Q400 looking pretty good. Maybe close to release?

Yep just dropped, $80USD, not sure i can justify another plane after the A340…might hold off for a bit on this one. Looks amazing though!

Ouch. $80. I’ll have to think hard about that one.

I’d like it just for this…pretty much the same box we have in our Ultras…

ā€œFor the first time in X-Plane, we’ve created an accurate rendition of the UNS-1Ew FMSā€

No HUD though or did I miss it?

I see the higher prices as common practice now. Its the extra for staying loyal with the platform. Our XP community is thinner.

We can all just blame MSFS and all the people who left XP for MSFS

…or the modules are just so great at the XP11 twilight

Yeah…I agree with that. I have to weigh in my head whether I would fly it enough to justify it at that price point (probably not) - so this one might sit until a sale hits the trigger point.

I think the part that gets me is there was no discount for previous owners of the legacy Q400. I understand that its a new plane but is it?

Oh yeah…I actually forgot about that. Usually there is a smidge of a discount for loyal customers. I haven’t visited the forums to see if there is any drama about that. I’m sure there is…

There FAQ also mentions not VR optimized or whatever…so for now, I’d take a wait and see…

To be fair they always said there wouldn’t be a discount but that $80 price tag sure makes it feel like there could have been a little bit of a discount.

Man… a year ago I might have bought that but I just can’t justify dumping money into XP11 aircraft anymore. I haven’t pulled the trigger to uninstall yet but the day PMDG releases their 737 for MSFS will be a death sentence for X-Plane on my machine.

$80 price point puts them alongside products of a very high standard of quality, I’m curious if this one can hold its own.

Not super clear from the box info… Performance tips for the q3xp from fjsim.

Nice (FREEWARE) little conversion from old Microsoft Flight Simulator (FSX) to an X-Plane model of the M-7 Maule. I’m not sure how they are getting around distribution rights…but at this point…don’t ask, don’t tell… It is a nice little conversion that works well in X-Plane. Sounds are a bit weak, but she flies nice.
