You should really ask him if you can spend a idle hour browsing the AMM on the computer(It’s ATA structured so you should be fine with finding your way around it). It can be very interesting to see how all the components interact, especially if you get some of the diagrams and flowcharts with it too .
But yeah, Icing boots can be a PITA, especially fitting them back on with all the brackets and whatnot if its not the exact same boot you’ve sent in.
Yeah…I get to see some of those items occasionally when we are playing “stump the chump” in ground-school and someone comes up with some out of the box scenario where the instructor has to go “upstairs” (at the SimuFlite building in Dallas the maintenance department/manuals/training are on one of the upper floors) to get some expanded information. Those types of questions and answers are usually entertaining because so much of what we hear as pilots is urban myth and I always enjoy getting the real gouge from either the maintenance guys or the engineers themselves at Cessna or Raytheon on why something is or isn’t. Too often we get stories of why we operate certain things a certain way based on old or bad information that has just been handed down from crew to crew over the years. I love it when urban myths are put to rest by good information.
Indeed…! That Newark is nice - I hadn’t seen that one. There is a DC and Philadelphia one floating around out there too - and MisterX always makes great stuff as well. Really talented guys…
And look, it’s not the 727! Looks like they are implementing the 3D model for the X-FMC project in the 732, although I haven’t been able to get it to work, I wonder if/when they will release it since it does not appear to be in the current release.
So this looks interesting. As someone who is probably close to making a SkyMaxx Pro 4 decision or not (whenever it is released)…I’m gonna have to see some comparisons and make a decision.
But at this price point: Price: 69,90 USD for Lifetime License. - it ain’t gonna happen…

xEnviro software has user-friendly interface with flexing settings of each element;
xEnviro software uses own cloud and sky textures along with sound library;
xEnviro software does NOT require instalations of 3rd party products or libraries and is fully ready for use after instalation;
xEnviro software is updating and developing constantly.
That is one I’ll have to wait to go on sale. That’s just too much scratch. If it is revolutionary…I’ll cough it up eventually, but I’ll need some really compelling evidence…
Hope it’s ok to ask a general question in this thread, anyone have the F4U or P-38 for X-Plane? Are there others out there not on the xplane.org store? not all familiar with who makes planes for what.
I don’t have either of them…WW2 isn’t really my thing…and I don’t have any idea on the quality of them. There is a great freeware A6M at the .ORG though…
