Approaching the mountains

That’s where I need to be, currently direct 115.1, then 113.0 through the valley visual approach… This’ll be fun!

Thats a shame with the 727.

Descending to fly the circle approach to ILS to KACV

Gnarly approach with the wind pushing me off quite a bit still, Welcome to Medellin!

Literally with one wheel on the runway already, finally stabilized on the ILS, the previous part of approach was bit wonky

Made it! Here is the circle approach to the ILS GS. I am glad I figured it out from the approach chart. Btw in the middle of the GS started to happen weird thinks… but who cares now

Clearly this deserves some sort of mulligan. What about spawning near your last known nav point and using slew to get you at altitude? I really want to see this bullet landing on snow and ice

I haven’t given up @chipwich, but I won’t be able to attempt to finish the flight for a while. I promise you I’ll get you that screenshot, though, even if I have to slew it.

The more the merrier! It’s only just starting!

When entering the B727 flight deck, the first place to look for proper pornography is the underside of the FE’s table, which folds upward.

@BeachAV8R You made me look up aviation sextant navigation techniques, and to be honest it looks fun as heck to try on longer flights, although one would require a properly simulated star system…

I am willing to bet someone at your FOB has a sextant lying around, you should ask if you can borrow it for a long and boring night flight!

Hi, first post, new forum member.[/quote]

Welcome to Mudspike! Looking forward to seeing FsPax in action.

(Hint: we have a #screens-aars forum, too!)

Right on…! Grab a plane and point it South…!

Alrighty - so I haven’t solved my An-24RV and X-Plane 11 problem yet…so it might be a bit ambitious for me to try to fly that crate down to Antarctica. Thus, I’m thinking about pulling the Avro RJ70 out of retirement and putting it to work again this year for the flight. Even though much of the airplane is pretty coarse (and it hasn’t gotten any updates…please, do not buy this airplane because the support is non-existent)…I do still like it. And it is a great short field performer.

I ran it through some paces around Asheville, NC - just over the hills from where I live. If I don’t settle on something else, I’m guessing this will be my aircraft for the flight…

Oh nice! my next flight was planned to Manta but this looks way better! It’ll be quite the flight still heading down the west coast from there though.

Such a shame since the exterior model looks gorgeous.

Well, it is and it isn’t. The 3D model is really nice. The external textures are pretty coarse though - it almost looks like a Russian plane that was pounded out of copper once you get up close to the textures. That said, the new reflective property that XP11 creates even on older aircraft does really make it look good. I really wish the developer were doing more with it because it does have potential…but at this point I’d not recommend jumping onboard unless you do so with the expectation that what you see might well be all you get. (No FMC either…although I’ve not tried an FMC plug-in…I’ll have to look and see if it even works with XP11…)

Ah, perhaps X-FMC? Gotta say, really neat of FJS to include a 3D model of that on the pedestal.

Yeah - I’ve never tried it…so I’ll give it a whirl.

I’m not gonna hold my breath…
