I got an error with the handoff to paypal. Went to my profile and clicked “pay order” and got that done. Payment accepted and cleared, just waiting for the module to be assigned to my profile so I can load it up in the sim!
This.
Mine is good to go now!
Yep, same here. I was wondering if it was just me or not.
The store was (is?) slammed. This is great. While it makes for a frustrating buying experience it means the upgrade is selling like hotcakes.
Anyway. I got mine +1 and flew a little in it. I haven’t figured the helmet thing yet. Tend to get the pod pointed out into the boonies, and getting it back at the targets is a female dog. Wasn’t I supposed to be able to look at something and tell the pod to slew to that?
Either way, I love love LOVE the way the hog flies now. Get it light (two mavs, some pods and the gun) and it moves like a proper fighter. It moves like I seen it do at airshows. Such fun. I’m like a pig in the mud with it!
PRO TIP :
To copy your existing A-10C HOTAS input configuration, simply navigate to;
“C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openbeta)\Config\Input”
Copy the existing “A-10C” folder, and rename the copy “A-10C II”.
Done!
Oh, now he posts that!
The game recognized my Warthog throttle and mapped it for me. Of course the stick was strange to it, so I had to re-bind all the things on that. Eh, no biggie. I swapped TMS and DMS so they correspond to the mapping on the viper. I wonder what air force genius thought swapping those between the viper and the hog was a good idea.
Same one who decides that it’s a good idea to have 5 hats each of which has 2 functions for each direction depending on whether you press it quick or hold it a second I’d bet.
They did that because real A-10 pilots can’t use a keyboard…
Sorry, I had to wait til after I got home from work to pull the trigger. Now, we just need a SimShaker update to really jump in…
Tested it for about two hours. OMG the HMCS is amazing. I’ll need a couple of days to really get used to the new HOTAS functions but holy smokes the SA you get with the HMCS is off the charts.
Being able to just look at something and immediately slew TGP and weapons to that point is fantastic. Making the last Markpoint SPI is so incredibly useful.
And the APKWS is bonkers. The Hog is on a whole other level now
Absolutely worth the $10
Edit
Screenies:
I paid 8.50ish as well. Looking forward to trying it out.
I am really impressed with the discount they offered. I think it is such great customer care and makes you feel like every purchase you make is valuable to them.
They have had a LOT of money off of me and I’ll keep giving it to ED.
Wonder if I can actually get to grips with the A10 this time. Its a module I’ve always struggled with. Serious lack of flight time with this one
I’d buy it if their new credit card payment service would accept my VISA.
I too ran into this problem with the last update, and the fix for me was a combination of deleting the “ImagesShop” folder located here;
“C:\Users\YOURNAME\Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openbeta)\ImagesShop”
And changing;
[“graphics”] . . .
[“fullScreen”] = true > false
In the options.lua, located here;
“C:\Users\YOURNAME\Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openbeta)\Config”
I was able to re-enable full screen after a successful DCS startup afterwards.
Good Luck!
Yep, that HMCS is THE reason to upgrade your existing A-10 installation. Along with laser guided everything else.
PSA: page 404 of the A-10 II manual includes all of the new HMCS TMS/DMS commands.
So I have no idea how but this update changed my FOV settings. I can change them back to what I want, But I cant get my zoom stuff right,
I have an X56 and use Rotary 1 on the throttle and set it to View zoom in the axis menu. Before this update, if I had the rotary centered( there is a notch) The master arm switch was at the bottom of my screen. (roughly an FOV of 90ish IIRC) Now with the rotary centered I can’t see the bottom OSB buttons on my MFDs.
Nothing I do will set the zoom out to the default view (Keypad enter)
Any ideas?
Not sure about the FOV issue, but the seating height was adjusted in “II”. I’ve noticed a slight FOV adjustment as well, but I’m in VR so it’s a different default. I remember when the A-10 cockpit was upgraded to 4k textures in Dec 2019, the FOV and seating height were adjusted and there were some complaints. It appears they listened, investigated, and changed it (back?) again. Wags mentions it in his video 4:11 mark
Perhaps a repair might do the trick?
Maybe it is a height thing. I’ll lower the seat and see. I just feel closer to everything though. Maybe it’s just an A10 thing.
Or maybe I just need to get VR and be done with it.
BRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttttttttttttttttTTTTTTTTTT!
This is a nice addition to my new Syria mission, Jambiya Dagger!
Not a fan of paypal, to put it nicely.
Weird though, it worked today. Maybe it didn’t like one of my browser plugins or it was some intermittent issue.
