It’s a very, very fun little fighter - and honestly, I think making you work harder helps teach BFM and just flying in general.

True!

So, you guys have been flying the F1 for a bit now…. Is it worth getting at this point?

Yes. For sure. Maybe?

Depends on what you have already - what we’re comparing it to I suppose. It’s not a MUST buy IMO, but not a bad one either, at all. I can’t be any more vague than that

The only real distraction was, in VR, the darkness of the cockpit (had to ramp up the gamma) and the illegible HUD font. Think they’ve fixed or are fixing one or more of these? Overall it’s fun, a good, but not [yet], great module. At the moment.

I hit “buy now” cus I’m not into MIGS yet wanted something to play Bad Guy with…and I see the darn things overhead a lot (aggressors) ← they made me do it.

Thanks for the summary…with that in mind I probably should wait until they brighten up the cockpit a bit. I picked up the SA map today so I’ll spend some time with the Harrier and A4 instead. The F1 does look like a fun airplane though…

Buddy, i just spent 3 days doing touch and go’s. I was tired of landing like a bag of dirty diapers thrown in a dumpster. REDKITE’s video on Taxi, takeoff and landing is an absolute gem! Of particular interest is that you must use Approach Mde and on final line up the geen line with the orange square using the throttle. I got about an hour on landing practice w it. I can land it w no Chute now. It takes practice and a good throttle control.

In combat she has certain atributes and weaknesses. But there is never a dull moment. The Fishbed will fly circles around you if you let him. End the fight quick or Extend!!!

Nice! Take out that radar and the whole missile battery is a no go. In the video, there was a radar in the middle of that 57mm gun battery. So there is a radar in game which works with those guns? I thought I saw its radar dish actually move with your aircraft as the guns began firing at you.

It is the new SON-9 FCR that came with the KS-19 AAA in the latest update. Frankly I haven’t checked if it actually does something for the S-60 57mm guns (it should) but it certainly looks cool.

Looking back at the video, it certainly appears to be tracking your aircraft while guns are firing at you.

Did you build that SA-3 site yourself, or is that part of the map I haven’t found yet? Also very nice flying!

Looks like part of the map, though the layout isn’t the typical SA-3 layout I’m familiar with. The Syria map has lots of (empty) SAM sites with revetments that mission builders can fill in, and some that are still just textures without revetments. I’ve only found some SA-2 sites so far.

Agreed on the layout being atypical from what I had seen in books. I’ve found 1 or 2 SA-2’s. If there was something similar to the NTT target pack that could populate (or at least notate) where they are that would be mighty handy.
