Thanks for the reminder, picked this up last week too and hadn’t realized I needed to D/L the hirez pack separately.
There have been questions about exactly how good the framerates are in Aerofly FS 2 over its recently released New York Scenery.
So lets take a look! (1440p with all settings on “Ultra” except shadows. Framerate counter is on the lower left Corner.)
Sorry about the faint barks, the dog was excited about the graphics.

Scratch your dogs belly from me! I miss having a dog…
Watching all those buildings is just mesmerising.
IMO, the Manhattan scenery is quite remarkable in its detail. Sure, the water and vehicles are static, but the rest of the 3D objects are astounding in accuracy. I go there a few times a year on business, and usually end up working in a high rise at 55th & Madison with a view downtown. Will be fun to explore Manhattan from the air in greater detail.
The house is emptying out today and decided that daddy needed a late Christmas present from Santa. Now to make room on that hard drive…
Yeah I’m really impressed with it, I’m moving from Seattle to Wilmington Delaware in a couple of weeks, so have been using AFS2 to explore the area around there (which I’ve never flown in a sim before), and I’m really enjoying getting familiar with that East Coast geography using the photorealistic scenery and VR.
I hope they will keep expanding the scenery and airports with objects.
Beautiful!
Aerofly FS2 must get a helicopter now!
I just got home from my New Zealand trip and the first thing I downloaded today was the NYC scenery and WOW! Pretty amazing in VR, and so silky smooth, even with all those buildings to render. Love the new F15E too!
And they have already adopted the Vulkan API…
Will this be free addition to AeroFlyFS2 owners?
Well, there have been some freebies released that some may be unaware of: ENJOY!!

It looks like it is? Not 100% sure.
Might be an ideal VR VFR sim in a helo.
Their Q-400 was free…
As the F-15E.
Looks like reinstall will be in order to check that helo out.
this autumn is realy helicopter intensive
Just reinstalled - it’s free.
Just tried the R22 on Profi settings.
What an amazing feeling to fly around in downtown Manhattan in VR…!
The Profi setting (it’s a tickbox in the aircraft selector that says ”Profi” in the R22 page) seems a bit more lively than without Profi on.
I hope they will make many more Helos for FS2!
