The Twin Beech is like that; change power and/or prop, change cowl flaps. They go together.
How are you getting return jobs? I’m not seeing any jobs except ones out of the base, and 4 back into it. That’s it.
Co-worker had the Commode-door 64 same time I had the Tandy. I was a bit miffed - his has 16 COLORS. Mine had 4. I felt cheated.
I’m only picking jobs that go to an airport that has a return. Unless the return is at another airport that is relatively close by…
There’s a juicy one all the way down in central CA I think it is like $50k+. But I can’t transfer it now. And It’ll take (PC/AH/XP-willing) all day. If I do it correctly
Cracks in the terain mesh

I see no issues so far but it was just a quick look-see. FPS seem about the same, which I would think this adds more work. However at that distance it’s probably not that many vertices to make a big difference. At least on a mid-level rig like mine.
My suspicion and the thread below sorta confirms it, is they are ‘chopping off’ the detail mesh with a more simple, distant mesh (I tried this once years ago in a terrain engine I wrote). The above seems to say, “don’t do that”. Worked for me.
Note in the thread linked to, someone pooh-poohs this fix, giving a supposedly better one, using a DataRef. But it seems that DataRef isn’t there anymore.

I saw Aerosoft KPUW - Pullman/Moscow airport over there in the southeastern corner of Washington was available on sale from the .ORG store for around $15. It is an X-Plane 10 airport…but I took a chance to see if it would work with X-Plane 11 and it looks great. Expect KPUW to be showing up as a MAD hub airport to allow us to branch off into Idaho and all the crazy airfields in the back woods.
I think we should buy a couple of aircraft for the VA at KEAT soon so that we get jobs being generated specifically for the VA at KEAT.
This is the base for my company. How do you find this blends with TE Washington?
I was almost there. Almost. I had a $60,000 load of toys in a DC-3 I can’t afford. 20 miles out from 7S9 I BSODed the very instant I hid the range button on the GNS-530. “Page Fault”.
I have removed all plug-ins that are not common to all of us: STMA updater, AH, FSEconomy, etc. I emptied the shadercache. The failure happened over “non-Forkboy2” terrain (I had clearly passed the line 25 miles prior.) Nvidia drivers were updated last week. I guess the next step is to uncheck the “Vulcan” box.
[EDIT] So as not to waste everyone’s time trying to help me out, what I think I know is that this really cannot be an X-Plane problem. CTD’s are software. BSOD’s are hardware. X-Plane is either pushing my GPU beyond its 8gigs or my HDD is about to fail. “Page Fault” might indicate the HDD as more likely. So…carry on.
Since I may not be able to fly for a day or two…can I transfer my LEASED DC-3 to help make my payments or is that for OWNED airplanes only?
[EDITx2] Now X-Plane will not allow me to use VR. Will reinstall.
Dang. Hearbreaking. This is the same rig you are flying Condor 2 with though right - where you can spend 3 hours + without a hitch? So it is definitely something X-Plane related. I would definitely try the Vulkan box unticked, and if that doesn’t work, maybe roll back away from the beta to the stable release?
Thanks! I updated my post above.
I agree. Let me start a poll and then we will also have write in candidates.
@BeachAV8R hey. I know you’re busy doing a million things just want to check on this before the sale ends.
Edit: this being kpuw aerosoft blending with te Washington
Let me check…be right back…
So it doesn’t blend all that well, but I don’t think it looks horrible either. I just choose to believe that all the farms around Pullman have an aggressive insect infestation that required liberal application of Round Up.
Here you can see the edge of where the Aerosoft scenery area blends transitions to the Orbx TrueEarth scenery…
This is the Orbx depiction with the Aerosoft airport removed…so you can see Orbx shows similar wide areas of brown fields…but not nearly as aggressively as the Aerosoft version…
Interestingly…over in the town is apparently where the Orbx scenery eastern border ends and my Forkboy or self-generated ortho picks up. Pretty evident that the Orbx scenery is a bit higher quality and more objects obviously…
I tried removing the ortho stuff from the Aerosoft folder - it has a folder called Aerial that contains 1.68GB of imagery…but if I remove that folder, the scenery doesn’t load. I’m not sure how I could do that. Not sure if there is an easy way to eliminate the ortho imagery and leave the airport intact over the Orbx ortho. It being an X-Plane 10 designed airport, you might find issues with the airport boundary perhaps.
I did remove the Aerosoft KPUW Mesh folder and there was no problem with the airport and the Orbx mesh.
Well, I said that - but if I go look there is some long wave ripple to the airport runway and taxiway. Not sure how it is in real life. At least it isn’t jagged transitions though - but perhaps the Aerosoft Mesh would be better to keep…
Thanks for that. Orbx has plenty of brown around kpuw, that’s for sure. Saw tons of it on my flight last night haha.
I’ve got HD mesh v4 installed for this area which I think is taking precedence since it loads last. Some odd hills compared to TE scenery. I might take it out and see how that changes.
Gonna have to ponder that aerosoft scenery. The airport at kpuw as is seems ok right now.
You might be able to modify the airport using WED and mask any orthophotography that exists outside the airport fence.
And on my end, I’ve just dumped my installation and will start afresh.
