I must be tired because I’m not finding this… How do you relocate yourself without your plane?
I relocated my ai pilot and he’s got my sole plane, which is fine. I want to out myself back at my base but I don’t see how to do that…

I can definitely unlock it…questions definitely generate more education!
I see something under Company Information - Pilot & Ops - Operations that says “Pilot Travel To” but my list pilots is empty…
Ya it only seems to cover AI pilots.
I may hop in the AH2 discord and ask.
I split out some of the in-progress/flight following posts. I probably missed a few but check 'em out over here:
It appears your personal position doesn’t matter. So pilots have to transfer and take the according amount of time, but for you it seems irrelevant? Seems weird.
Is it just me - or does the Virtual Airline menu system not have all the tabs and tools to assess the company finances as the personal company tabs? I can’t seem to find any graphs like the ones you can for Finance Overview and Reputation Overview… The top, middle, and bottom menu tabs seem really oddly configured…
That interface is clunky as hell. I mean, seriously, Slopey has been at this for awhile. Certainly even he must get confused. I am pretty sure that if I am still “air hauling” two years from now I will still have difficulty figuring out how to add a plane and how to get typed in it.
As I mentioned already, taking my time before I start with my AH career. Lot to digest obviously.
FSE seems to be more streamlined in execution. But I guess AH provides more options.
Yup, I was thinking this earlier. I really want to see our money coming in to the VA, not just by looking at the pilots page. I would also like to see more info on the individual pilots flying records, where they have been etc.
Well I certainly wouldn’t talk anyone out of Air Hauler 2. It was very much worth the $50. But in terms of sophistication FSE is right up there with it. The added career discipline in Air Hauler makes it just a bit more game-like for me–in a good way. For instance there is “Mudspike Air Delivery” in AH2. That’s a physical place to me. Beech put it at Wenatchee and that’s where it will stay until he moves it. Our version in FSE can me anywhere and we can take any job to contribute to it. That’s great. But it feels less grounded to me.
Fse is also restricted in that the FBO market is shared and established. You can’t just build anywhere. We have our own world through va, whereas fse you share that works with everyone. Pros and cons to that.
It seems to me that the main idea is to focus on your individual company. A Virtual Airline is, maybe, akin to the Star Aliance? Which has airlines operating under the umbrella company. I think the idea is that we can share resources (FBO, fuel, etc) but it’s not meant as more than that. It is a loose association of individual companies that share things through the VA.
After a little bit more with AH2XP I am going to take another look at @Gunnyhighway’s FSE company, which may be more collaboration focused.
I think that is the proper assessment.
Yeah - I’m keen to get involved with FSE more as well once I have AH2 a bit figured out. My tiny brain can only work on one thing at a time. That Kodiak that @Gunnyhighway put on the certificate is very appealing…
That is definitely the appeal to me. I know it is a grind to many, but having multiple levels of brass rings (Cessna 185, Kodiak, maybe a 727 some day) are incremental goals I enjoy working toward. Oh…and owning PDX. I will someday own PDX…
Same here. My problem with FSE is that … you start with no money? You have to rent to start and that limits the flexibility somewhat. Right now, in AH2XP, I have a 172 and I just have to worry about cargo and destinations. in FSE, at my last two destinations (CZBB and KEAT) there are no 172s?
ya… aircraft going all over in FSE is appealing and a PITA at the same time. It’s nice to have your own so you can be sure you can fly it. But then you also need jobs available for you, which I found somewhat frustrating in FSE. They just never seemed to be there.
It was nice being able to fly different planes when I wanted to, though. And I explored places I wouldn’t have normally (like regions, not just oh this smaller airport in the area).
But the whole gate system confused me to no end (no need to explain… I’m stuck into AH), the inability to get into bigger airports because they were already taken, etc…
Yes, I hadn’t been using AH2 for a couple of years, or more, in P3D. It seemed to forever be in beta. And it is the same interface in 2020 that it was several years ago. In AH1 too if I recall, in FSX.
Does give the impression it’s an after-thought sometimes. Not sure when it was added. As someone above mentioned, the dev’s been at it a long time. Probably one person. I just don’t notice that much progression over the last 10 years I’ve been using it. Not to say it’s not useful however, and a niche that needed filling.
Excellent summation of my take on the two, so far.
