Automobilista 2

Small update today. Mostly bug fixes.

I tried this and the effect was subtle. Worth a look though.

I will wait for the new DLC… I have LMU for WEC cars at at the moment and primarily drive AMS2 for F1. Still lots of goodies in this update.

Back in the day, when @guod was an running an rF1 league over at SimHQ, we had some really great races with the Porsche Cup series mod. That mod, along with the F1 1979 mod, were some of the most fun and rewarding races in memory. The Porsche Cup cars, heavy on oversteer, made for some interesting races, especially in wet weather. If memory serves, the only race that I won in the series was in heavy rain at Monza! Well, perhaps I’m a little biased.

Did you know that there is a similar mod for AMS2? There is a link to the mod download on MediaFire and huge skin pack on Overtake in this video. Both drag and drop installs with AMS2 content manager. Both mods also add series and series templates to AMS2. It’s really excellent!

I need to check this out… I actually haven’t run much ASM2 yet but I’m planning to change that. Have the base game but no DLC yet (and my budget’s blown currently).

Make sure to install Content Manager, if you haven’t already, for drag n drop mod installation. Makes short work of what used to be text file edits with every mod install or update.

So everyone who hasn’t already got it, can! :+1:

Give them the razor, so they need to buy blades.

Ok, my regular racing group definitely got caught napping on AMS2!! A couple of us spent most of yesterday checking out AMS2 and working through MP setups and hosting. We had an absolute blast and being able to fill out grids with AI (decently driving ones as well) made for some pretty enjoyable racing.

We’ve been a Forza club from day one but have always checked out other titles. We’d been pushing towards AC a bit and added it into the rotation for the last week of each month. Think we’re going to alternate with AMS2 but I can see that expanding pretty quickly.

I think we all have AC EVO on the horizon but this should keep us happy while it continues to bake a while.

For $4 for base AMS2 right now, easily able to get everyone to dip their toes into the pool. I’m thinking probably going to jump on the Premium Expansion Pack @ $35 for now.

Yeah, that expansion pack is an amazing deal right now. With an IMSA preset, you can setup a mixed class race at most, if not all of the series tracks with a few clicks. The group C and 80s and 90s era F1 are my favorites.

Yeah you can’t go wrong with AMS2 imho. I think I have all DLC short of some of the offroad rally cross stuff. Don’t really have the setup to drive that. it’s all good fun though! Last night had a Corvette/Beamer race at Mosport, and it were the classic non-race versions so awful tyres and awful performance. That Vette really was more noise then actual turning ability!

I’m pretty stingy on my budget, and dropped a bit extra into the rig with the new pedals and bass shakers (not sure how long the CSR Elite wheel is going to hold out either) recently, so though I ā€œshouldā€ at least get the Season Pass, I think that expansion pack will be enough for now.

Plus, the more base or mod content we can stick with, the easier it is on getting the other guys into the mix.

Definitely felt awesome to drive, especially on my upgraded setup. Worked up a sweat and got a workout all in one. lol

I haven’t driven it yet but my other guy did and he said pretty much the exact same thing! lol

You kinda get it to turn in more then you want at corner entry and then use the throttle to have it slide towards the exit point, the steering wheel is more of a suggestion in that car

Got the Quest 3 back up and running in the new space. Decided might as well try AMS2 with it… yeah, that’s going to work nicely I think!!
