Friday 28th July. RAF Coningsby families day. Nice of my wife to need a driver as she is doing the face painting for 29 Squadron. Someone will have to drive her and spend the day looking at the displays etc. Did I mention the free food and ice cream?
I think you should have Fliss facepaint you as well. I vote red arrow.
Pictures please!
Of your facepaint, but also of the aircraft…
She is thinking of a red diamond trailing red white and blue smoke in a loop. Think the poster for the film Battle of Brittain. The word ‘ECLAT’ under the diamond.
I will put them on the "where are you now thred, but as a teaser I have just helped Fliss set up in the 29 Sqn area (Typhoon OCU) and been given a go anywhere wristband

And especialy for @Victork2
Nice!
Have y’all see that plane in Italy with the hail damage a few days ago? (Pics in linked article)
Must have been some big chunks of ice.
I expect a shot inside PA474 next, otherwise you are not getting your money’s worth.
I am melting with envy.
You could have come @Victork2 . I have explored and made full use of the yellow band. Looked at the statics and gone in anywhere that was not locked. Airshow is just starting as the P8 has flown across. I have my own seat. Eaten burger and ice cream. Now drinking and enjoying the show.
Hadn’t seen that one, but reading the article reminded me of a SAS MD-81 that was hit by similar sized hail outside Helsinki in 2001.
I would of loved to come but ive been absolutely swamped this month.
Wonder what happened to that MiG-23?
Those bees look like a problem that will sort itself out after a quick zip around the pattern
One of the Youtubers out there (Fast jet performance … ex RAF pilot) had a theory about hydraulics and control failure, due to engine still running (from the sound) and plane still staying in the same banking attitude.
Fatal footage isn’t specifically prohibited by the rules. But if anyone finds this offensive I’ll take it away. I think it is too blurry to be truly disturbing anyway. This is the mid-air between a Rotorway helicopter flown by Mark Peterson, an acquaintance and mentor, and a gyro that mysteriously performed a tight 360 on base and impacted Mark and Tom from behind.
