Has it been missing?

While adjusting my gamma with 2.5.6, I only turned NVG’s on just to test. VERY bright. My eyes went, “hey, knock it off”. Didn’t do much more. So, it’s there, and it does work but there probably needs to be a ka-nob to adjust it (probably is but I didn’t look in the pit: Hornet).

There are NVG brightness controls, but depending on the module you might have to bind some controls for them.

Tried out the Huey multi-crew with @fearlessfrog. @AndyE flew alongside in a Harrier.

Pretty good! Almost everything is synced. Couple times we found a switch that did not, just as the radio select dial.

Due to issues with pathing and unit spawns crashing servers, we didn’t get to combat in the mission as it well
crashed. Hopefully @fearlessfrog will be around for another go! Our training range mission on Hollo Pointe North should let us give weapons a go without a server crash.

Frog advised that controls are taken by pressing “C”, however the control transfer is immediate and there is no dialog to confirm. It really needs a “player X would like to take control, confirm?” box perhaps.

Even on the ground a control transfer results in an immediate ~45° yaw to the right. We spawned on the back of a destroyer, and Frog taking controls caused the boat to make a big hole in the deck which caught fire. As Frog warned that others said DON’T TRY THIS IN THE AIR!! On ground at a FARP was OK.

On touchdown we “crashed”. Frog brought it down a bit hard but it should have been okay - instead the rotor, skids and tail all broke off. I figure with the latency between users that what on his end was OK may have tripped on my system as an impact. I was the “host” and he was co-pilot, so I am curious if I did the same landing if his side would trigger a “crash” for us.

Without further testing I would say have your better flyer as pilot (host) and let the pilot do the landing and be as smooth as possible just to be safe.

On the pilot models you can see each other’s head rotations (pilot models aren’t 6DOF). All in all for just a jaunt from the fleet to shore, it was really good fun.

As it gets ironed out and hopefully added to other helicopters, it will bring a much missing dimension to DCS - I can see buying the helos myself even though I am not a skilled pilot or greatly interested in them compared to planes - just to be the gunner etc.

Whelp, it’s finally time we share the Huey cockpit, man.

Jettison the canopy and do not use afterburner to make it perfect :+1:

I read afterwards that any landing at an airport or farp will destroy the Huey, and the workaround is just to go back to single for landing or just use the grass.

It worked well my side with the only issue the initial ‘accept invite’ dialog was bugged in VR, as the click cursor was in the wrong place.

Well then, I guess the NTSB can clear your record on that one!

It was still a bit of a stiff landing tbh :cowboy_hat_face:

We should try door gunning!

Well it’s just shy of 1PM here, time to eat. I’ll be around after lunch though!

Wrong ship? Nah, the beer is better!

First attempt at landing at a moving ship, that is fun!
