There’s a reason that in my squadron I am not allowed to fly the Hog in missions
Once I get into my flow nothing can stop me
I am kidding of course but flying the hog for over 11 years now I have become very effective against anything sitting on the ground. Such an amazing weapons system. On the Syria map I once cleaned the valley going down from Hatay to the south all on my own while testing a campaign we were working on at the time. It was full of SAMs, MANPADS, AAA and tanks. All I had were some hills to hide behind and the Hog with APKWS, Mavericks and bombs
Name your date and time. You got the latest version? The helmet sight makes it even easier to use.
Flying and fighting in a hog feels very much like playing a musical instrument to me. It has a logic and a rhythm to it, a dance.
Yeah me and derby be happy to teach you some chords. Got a nice training .miz for that @Derbysieger or shall we abuse the Normandy thing for it? CBU-97 works great on tiger tanks
Pretty sure I’ve got a bunch of training missions we could use, I’ve build quite a lot of them over the years to train different aspects of air to ground combat, especially defensive flying and weapon employment using only the HOTAS.
Completely agree with that musical instrument statement. The HOTAS is just so good. In combat you basically don’t need to take your hands off the HOTAS except to turn master arm on and off.
The Hornet is just so clunky in comparison and while the Viper’s HOTAS is very good it still pales in comparison to that of the A-10C.
Never flown the new one. Let me do some basic stuff on my own time so I can actually fly the thing before we learn together or I’ll waste everyone’s time with stuff I should already know.
It’s time. I’m running out of things to do in the Sabre and the 19.
finally paid visit to Rotorheads server. it seems like very good server for helo ops. it is PvE. reasonably short distances. lot of things to do. so perfect for some future coordinated MS Rotary Club action I would say.
and this is me in Huey, did CSAR mission for starter. didnt expect any confrontation with SKYNET in that sector but there were few vehicles which spited big green traces my direction. fortunately I brought home that downed pilot safely and only few holes in my plexiglass.
one nice feature, my copilot did call out the contacts in advance so I was alerted in time to pay attention and not flew right into the trap.
That bulldog paint on the (S)UH-60 is pretty fine. It seems that the UH-60 team is making rapid headway refining their gift to the community. Good times.
Who else loves flying low along the coast in the Marianas. I think DCS has some of the best looking water/wave effects of any sim with this map. I love transparency and feeling of depth to the water.
I’ve always liked the aesthetics of the Anton but the first time I tried it in DCS I hated how slow and sluggish it felt. Something must have changed in the FM because it is hell fun for A2G work now.
