WOW, what are your DCS settings?!
I knew it⦠Mine only go up to 10.
Set your DCS to SLOW!
Is anyone else using a warthog hotas? I donāt know if the movement of it is just too heavy for this helo or itās still just me. But no matter how small the movements I make that circle in the HUD goes screaming fast in any direction I move it to and totally unlike how Iāve seen it slowly move in videos. Iāve changed the curves, saturation etc but nothing seems to help.
Any advice welcome.
The biggest difference i found was going with an extension once the huey was released. Its just not possible to be as precise without one. Also i used to say trim often. But until i can get my pc restored to its set up position i cant try the trim in the apache. I would say though once i got a 12.5 cm extension i could hover for hours in one spot and am thankful everytime i fly, even AAR is possible for me now
This! Same for me, without an extension the 'Hawg is Hard to use precisely for Helos.
Saw this making the rounds.
How it started and how itās going
Anyone play LHX Attack Chopper (1990)? Remember your helicopter roots!
+1. Hard to do if your stick is on the desk though. Moving it to between my legs was personally a flight sim watershed.
I had it on my mega drive. Confused the absolute hell out of me when i was a kid. Grew to love it though
It started a few years before LHXā¦ā¦ Tomahawk by DI was my first Apache sim on the ZX Spectrumā¦I thought it was marvelous at the timeā¦
I played the crap out of that on my SEGA Genesis.
Even got a really good condition copy for my current Genesis collection.
I wouldnāt mind owning the DOS box of LHX, but ironically I only find Genesis cartridges.
i started with Gunship. then Gunship 2000
also, extension definately for helos.
Thanks, it is useful.
BTW, early in the video he describes making small corrections with the thumb controller to compensate for a bit of drift while hovering, due to wind. Actually, the Linear Motion Compensation (LMC) button will take care of that. Center the target and press LMC.
LMC is also useful in tracking moving targetsā¦a bit more complicated ā¦perhaps an upcoming tutorial will cover it.
