Bought it! I haven’t learnt the Harrier yet and possibly won’t now I’ve got my favourite aircraft to play around in.

Congrats! The good thing is that both hornet and harrier are mcair products and there’s considerable crossover in how their avionics work. The pits even look alike.

they are very similar, the hornet has a few extra bits that we are waiting for on the harrier, but if you can use the mfd’s in one you can pretty much use the other

Interesting choice for basic IFF integration. The square can look like a diamond very easily when banking etc. Wonder why they didn’t just go with the square and square with an x for friendly?

Does the real one use diamond for lock symbology?

The squares and diamonds aren’t horizon stabilized, right? They are oriented WRT the HUD itself?

I wonder if we’ll ever see NCTR in DCS World. One of my favorite things in Falcon 4. Sure, it’s not a friendly, but is that an Il-76 or a Tu-22? BIG difference…

Already in for the f-15c, but it is highly dependent on aspect, ie they have to be pointing at you, otherwise it won’t work

In addition to the nice update this week, the team is working furiously on many other items to get the Hornet foundation solid by the end of the month. Here are some items already resolved internally that will be pushed soon to an update:

  • Unable to select AG weapons after first selecting AIM-7.
  • Canister munitions (MK-20 and CBU-99) are now much more accurate. Note that you’ll need to set the MFUZ to VT. You can then set a Height Of Burst (HOB) using the HT function on the SMS page.
  • Overwing vaps have been added, but need to be tuned!
  • Time to lock for the ACM modes is much faster now.
  • You can now disconnect from the shuttle.
  • Adjusted flaps control bindings for TM HOTAS as a special item.
  • Support for export of DDIs.
  • Course offset distance is now displayed above the CRS value on the HSI.
  • New VFA-122 skin.
  • RWR threat ring logic changed, critical threat inside ring.
  • AC buses now isolated when when engine started without parking brake set.

LOTS of other work going on with the radar, EW system, and other items.

Btw is there any way to let the ground crew push back the jet? I know they do that in real life sometimes when a jet rolls too far.

Having met Navynuke99 before, and worked with another Navynuke (submariner), still wonder how their large egos could fit within a boat.

Egos are noncorporeal and can survive in an underwater environment. They need not travel inside the pressure hull.

How is the afterburner controlled in the Hornet?
Is it automatically engaged at full power? I don’t see it on…

Try pressing 0 (on the 1 through 9 keybar on your keyboard) while moving the setting to max.
