Well, yes, there seem to be some wishful thinking out there, but I see no hints towards BST releasing this on other modules, for free.
That TBD comment from ED could be interpreted as “I dunno! Ask BST, it’s their decision”.
According to my way of thinking, if BST would integrate the NS-430 in other modules, they would have sold it as a single module, not linked to a certain airframe. But my way of thinking has been proven wrong, before…
I do hope they will release it for other airframes though, paid or free.
Seeing as it would require some 3D work on the cockpits, I suspect the first modules to use the 430 would be the modules produced by BST themselves. It would require some level of co-operation to get it working with modules created by other 3rd party devs. Of course, a 2D pop up would be easy enough to implement (and easier to use too in all honesty).
I agree. I’m of the thought that it’d be nice to have it as a pop-up panel available for all the modules with a single purchase. I don’t know if that is feasible or not. Obviously, if other devs wanted to find a way to make it an option in their actual cockpit, that’d be even better.
I’ve done a lot of walking around airports over the decades…and it isn’t unusual to see odds and ends bolted onto panels…so it isn’t hard to believe the GNS430 being mounted haphazardly on some of these modules. Besides, it will give great course guidance for the DSS Ag Cat…
Is there any more clarity on what the plan is with the NS430? The store page still implies only functionality in the Mi-8, any other aircraft on the to be done list by any chance?
I too have been wondering about this. Been waiting for it to be implemented for other aircraft like the Huey etc. I would then gladly pull trigger on this however many times I need to in order to fill the aircraft I want using this.

In addition to the NS 430 GPS navigation and communication system being available as cockpit instrument for the Mi-8MTV2, we are now offering it as a cockpit instrument for the L-39 and as a 2D, mouse-interactive Pop-Op Window for most other aircraft. The 2D Pop-Up Window (not currently VR compatible) is available for all aircraft that don’t already have a modern navigation and communication system. This allows you to use the NS 430 for many aircraft like all the World War II aircraft, Korean War era aircraft, Flaming Cliffs/MAC aircraft, and others.
I have it for the Mi-8 although I never really use it, hell I have ARK 9 ARK UD and 2 radios I can use for ADF
I am buggered if I will buy it again to use in a jet I never fly
I think people need to stop thinking of downloadable content as goods…
But, if we compare the virtual NS430 to a real Garmin 430, you’d have to buy a new one for each aircraft you own, IRL too. Or, pay a avionics techie to take it out and install it, in your new aircraft.
In DCS this is just DLC. ED&co need money to survive. Integrating something like the NS430 module into exsisting aircraft modules requires work. Somebody needs to integrate the code and redo the 3D objects. If nobody pays for this, it won’t happen, and no other aircraft modules would get the NS430 integrated in the 3D model.
The upside of this is you decide if you want to pay for it.
