I don’t know. Riding around in a slow moving aluminum can while being shot at by cannon shells, rockets, and triple A is not very appealing, IMO. For reference, please read John Comer’s Combat Crew.

Well there’s people that like “Red Tails” over “Memphis belle” and vice versa so… 
But seriously, I remember the pleasure in playing “B17, the Mighy Eight” missions and I’d be honestly intrigued in do that in MP. Of Course I’d take a whole plane of Mudspikers for me to enjoy it.
Not sure I’d go LFB (Looking For Bomber) on the ED forums.

B-17 Flying Fortress - The Mighty Eighth by Microprose. I remember that game. On my first mission, headphones on and with the lights dimmed, while staring through my Norden looking for the target, flak hit the fuselage. Even though I was sitting safely in my loft in downtown Atlanta, I almost jumped right out of my skin at that horrible sound. And it continued for a while. Like being trapped in a trashcan while it was being beaten by bats and chains. Once we turned off bomb run and out of the flak, we got pounced on by FW-190s. Nice afternoon. No thank you 
Those were brave brave crews, especially 42-43. Give me a Thunderbolt or Mustang.
