I think Al Minhad is sloped, iirc.

I plan on recreating the Battle of the Horns of Hattin (1187) but with MiGs and Miragesā¦and Viggenā¦and maybe the Harrierā¦nothing made outside of Europe, as it was in 1187. For lack of water on the Crusaders side, Iāll use limited fuel. Yes, I am serious. This will be cool.
.
Why not?
It getās a bit ridiculous when people want to only recreate history - we donāt have all the assets for that nor will we soon.
Historically inspired fictional scenarios is a much more workable concept.
Cyprus has been named a stretchgoal many times. It will be added if the map sells well enough to warrant further work on it.
Of course we will, all of us
We need generic āfantasy mapsā for DCS. I used to be against them but now I feel it may be the most expeditious option for various scenarios; SEA, Iraq, Korea.
Or completely random ones as @Wes alludes to.
A āMountainous Jungle By The Seaā map; āTemperate Half-Mountain, Peninsular Mapā, āFlat Desolate Desert Interspersed with Verdant River Delta Mapāā¦(Map A,B,C).
Seems you might be able to create them faster too (algorithm). And updating them perhaps more rapid.
My motivation for this thought stems from the realization weāll likely never get maps for the above mentioned real places.
Place-name aliases for mission creators would help.
The suspension of belief might be eased?
This.
Hmmm, I am liking this idea.
Middle Earth?
Exactly. Have England-like shire, wooded areas, plains and hills like central Europe for the bits where the other dudes live and desert for Mordor.
āFor those of you who remember the 1980s military historyā¦ā
ā¦and for those of us who spent way too much of our young lives on āBagel Stationā
Man Iām almost looking as lustily forward to this map as to my G2 to arrive.
IIRC, Falcon 3.0 was a fictional map.
Nope, all approximations of real world locations. The conflicts were pretty fictional, Panama, Russia vs Japan, etc.
I must have got the version wrong. Iām talking about the square map wit a single riverā¦there were two bridges, a couple of airfieldsā¦a big buildingā¦and that was about it.
It ran on my 8088 (with 512K memory and a 32 Mb hard drive) soā¦a long time ago.
Thatās OG falconAT. Falcon 3.0 had a bunch of maps, but old school falcon had that one fictional map. I played it on an Atari ST. Someone is recreating the missions in DCS!
