Hey Camembert, are you SIANTEC in the MUDSPIKE QL club? Glad to see you in the rally regardless.
Yes I was Siantec, it grabbed my Steam id name but I’ve now changed it to avoid confusion sorry
So that was an absolute disaster. Got about 1/4 of the way through Stage 7 and came over a big jump. Was pointing to the left and discovered halfway though the jump that there was a large group of rocks and a street sign just to the left of the road. Landed about 30 feet in front of said obstacle and tossed it sideways, but slammed right into them, puncturing both left tires. Replaced one and kept going, but the remaining flat made handling so difficult that I kept hitting trees, rocks, and the like, further damaging the car.
Since there is no rest stop at the start of Stage 8, I had to keep going with the mostly broken car and only three inflated tires. Made it through mostly in one piece, but the radiator was shot, engine almost dead, and most of the suspension was probably mangled. Went from 2 minutes up at the start of Stage 7 to 2 minutes down at the end of Stage 8. Grr. . .
Fixed up enough stuff to get through Stage 9. Then made major repairs to start Stage 10 with a mostly repaired car. Two minutes off the leader, I set out with the bit between my teeth. Got probably an 1/8 of the way through and another puncture struck. Took the penalty to change it and took off like a madman. Went hurtling around a blind “3 left” which was much tighter than anticipated. Smashed face first into another bloody rock. Carried on but got terminal damage from a fence about 2/3 of the way through. Gah!
Even with that though, it was great fun. I never would have driven the little Pug if not for this event, yet I think it’s one of my favorite cars now. Slow enough that a 3 or 4 turn from top speed is nothing but a tap of the brakes, and it’s so pointy you can just chuck it into practically any corner and it will come scrabbling out the other side. Huge thanks to @Mudcat for setting this up!
Definitely got my eye on the top spot for the next round, assuming I can avoid any more accidents. . .
Zero or hero for me! (More likely zero)
FYI, I just started sending friend requests to the guys in this league. Not sure what it gets me, but perhaps it will be a way of filtering grievers. There are some that don’t match up, like 3 different Mucats. So if you didn’t get one, I tried. Conversely, if this is not a good idea, let me know.
It’s xMudcatx on Racenet, feel free to add me if anyone wants to. It does make it a lot easier for other things so I could invite instead of sign up and approve method. Capitalization may indeed matter just fyi.
It’s weird that you have to have a separate racenet name, but then they use your Steam/PS4/Xbox etc name in the results.
Haha get same thing when trying to accept
Dang @Roo I thought for sure that 205 would be top at the end!
FYI for the next fun run, the Evo is a right hand drive and the Subaru is a left hand drive.
I can’t drive right hand drives for some reason in game lol. So it makes my car choice way easier!
Also in case you were wondering the 205, from the previous rally, is a right hand as well.
Nyaaah, nyah-nyah nyaaah nyaaah!!!
Boy do I feel smug now, with my slow driving.
Ok, back to serious: it is a pity that you couldn’t finish, @Roo. I am really intrigued by how fast some of us can be, and would have liked to see you post an awesome time. Better luck next time!
Edit: In other news: I did some drifting in Argentina, I am slowly getting better with the handbrake. That could be helpful. I can only recommend it.
I posted your screenshot in the Codemasters forum this morning. Not the only one reporting this.
I was not able to connect to the server this morning…hopefully I can squeak in some stages before the end…
Beach, it’s just showing you through S6 at the moment. Good luck.
Racenet is a connection disaster
Finished all the stages. LOL…managed to roll my car twice in the last three stages.
Should we call you Beach “Colin McRae” AV8R from now on?
Richard Hammond might be apropos too.

Early wrap up this week
All 13 racers made it to the starting line.
12 of us “completed” the rally officially
9 made it to the finish line with their cars still intact.
VW ruled the roost, but I’m reserving the right to issue a Team Challenge here in the near future.
Without further Adieu Elby takes the gold this week
Followed by @chipwich and @weaponz248
Fun Run #2 starts @ 3:15 pm EDT - only six stages this week and 3 stops - let’s get everyone to the end!
I like Argentina!
Ahhhhhh, Argentina. Nobody’s going to finish the rally. Too many rocks!
