Happy to carry on as you are. If I don’t have these rally’s, I’ll be joining random’s who I don’t know or interact with, which is less fun.
Whatever you are arranging is all good fun. Shout if you need a hand.

I’ll say Yay loudly!
Finished Wales. Pretty good times I think, except stage 11 where I had to repair a tyre and at the same time accidentally turned the wipers off. I then struggeld to reactivate them…
And those rain stages scared the living crap outta me. Had a lot of close calls in that rally, stuff like driving with one wheel over a ledge and so on.
Videos of a few stages soon.
EDIT: Teaser. Does anyone else do this?
yep, that’s the one I was referring to before that I always pass on the right.
Same here. This time I surprisingly only passed it on the right once though.
Ok, here are the videos. Stages 1, 5, and 6
Some nice drifts but also funny driving errors included.
It felt fast, but once @Roo drives those stages I guess my opinion will change.
What about taking a poll to see what other driving sims people own, then take a 2 week break from rally trying some other sims? Open to anything, rallycross, street race, Monaco, Nordschleife, Donningto Park, whatever.
Then in two weeks start a new rally season, one location each week for 13 weeks in the up to 2000cc or Group B FWD cars. Run as similar to the 2019 WRC season as possible. Run the rally over Friday - Sunday like WRC.
My $.02.
That’s where I was leaning
I wish I could do it this way, Racenet doesn’t allow “off days”. So to do things that way, I’d have to create 13 separate “championships” and I can only create 1 future “championship”, an ongoing race and one future.
I don’t mind doing this, just a bit more tricky to co-ordinate, would need a hand with that. Personally I’d love to pop an indy race in rFactor 2 or pCars 2 even. but that’s just me.
Uh, if neither of you guys want it, can I have it?
Seriously, you’re both deserving champions. While I might have had a bit of a pace advantage, I crashed out of two rallies on Stage 2. You guys were there ever single stage. Well done to you both!
YAY!
Personally I’m going to run a 12 stage rally in Perth and Kinross IN THE DRY. I didn’t get a chance to enjoy it in the Alt Rally as it was raining cats and dogs, but after running a stage IN THE DRY it was quite fun, so I want to run the full group of stages. Was just planning on running against the AI, but would love to run with you guys again, IN THE DRY. (You got the subtle hint there? )
THIS! So much this. Me want.
As for other sims, I’d love to race you guys head to head, but the coordination would be trickiest. Sitting down whenever to run some rally stages isn’t too bad. Sitting down at a specific time is much harder.
oh, 1 thing, I’m not going to be using Racenet’s points system next time out. I understand their sliding scale points thing, but I don’t agree with it for trying to keep a league going.
I’m up for anything. I’m retired so theoretically I can do anything anytime although it rarely works out like that.
I could theoretically arrange my time to occasionally coincide with you guys over the pond within reason although I like to be flexible and fit in a race or stages when I can.
For info I also have Project Cars 2.
Whatever you decide I should have no problem joining in.
So short answer is YAY.
My suggestion for the new season:
one week per event
12 stages per event. OR maybe only six. Four long ones and two sprints. Not more than one heavy rain stage and not more than one night stage. Repairs every other stage.
Championship consists of only four events.
Reason: that will make it more interesting for people who care for the championship points but miss a rally or two. They can then compete next month.
one car class per month OR the same car for several months. Not sure what I would prefer…
As for other racing sims:
I don’t own any but I think I might succumb to peer pressure and buy one more sim. Preferably Assetto Corsa or Project Cars 2, or maybe automobilista 2.
So…
The alternate rally in Wales ended. And while @roo disappointingly only reached second to last place, I gloriously came in on second place!
I know, must try harder next time.
Forgot say it before, but a huge, huge thanks to @Mudcat for setting these up. Has been an incredibly fun journey, and I’ll happily keep riding the crazy train wherever it may take us.
Sorry that I didn’t make it for Wales. I had worked on my setup, practiced a little, and best of all, installed a cool Red Bull / M-Sport / Ford skin.
But then my monitor stand showed up, and I couldn’t help myself but build it last night. I’m really digging the aluminum profile (erector set for adults) builds. Although they are pre-cut, there is still some leeway in the design that allows customization.
Hope you’re not just dumping the old setup in the trash or anything.
New set up looks great
Nice clean setup there @chipwich. I see one unmanaged wire though LOL! The big loop on the baseboard.
Not immediately, though I might sell the G29, since it doesn’t have a lot of miles on it. I want to save the Playseat for my girls, but my wife is calling BS in that one. They are still into Barbie, but one of them loves driving Gran Turismo on the PS4. Thanks for the compliment Sir. Still waiting in the Aiologs stuff from Russia. They are having a rough time at the moment with COVID19. Will share a parts and source list when it’s completed.
Fixed that for you. Actually, haven’t had much time for cable management yet.
Thanks everyone, hopefully the whole or even part of the QL got folks through some crap times with a few hours of not having to worry about world events.
I’m going to take a few days to decompress a tad after the season and then next week look to see if we can beef up numbers a bit more. I’m going to do my best to find folks thatd would fit in with the general vibe of things, etc.
I like the full race schedule idea as well as the 4 race championship thing. The cool thing is we can actually do both. There are 13 tracks, so could do 3 “championships” of 4 races, and one final race.
I got some ideas on how I can make that work as to keep the most people involved, i hate to say this sounds a bit like the stupid stages stuff in NASCAR, but it might not be far off.
OMG, that was so thoughtful of you @chipwich! It was bugging me.
BTW, this is just the left side of my desk …
I’d hate to show you the center and right.
