DiRT Rally 2.0 League - Discussion

Need you guys to set this up. Lets see how you perform under pressure. Also I want to see how to properly drive. Right now I just run it WFO and see what happens. I don’t use a mic, but that might be cool to hear some reactions when you hit the “Oh ■■■■” moments

LOL no mic here - this is a family friendly site, and my commentary will be decidedly unfamily friendly about every 5 seconds :stuck_out_tongue:

Results:

11 racers started
10 “completed” the rally
5 did so with their cars still running

Weekend rally opens in @ 2 hours

Had a great event Mudcat - and thanks again for taking the time to set it up, test it out, tweak it, and give us all guidance. We all appreciate the work you’ve put into it…!

For me it’s up on the d pad and then button 18 to confirm. I drive with a g27 on default buttons.

LOL I just test drove an H2 on a random track. hahaha I don’t know if it’s the track or my driving skill with the car, but I don’t think I’m finishing this one even with the extra repairs XD

Appreciate the thanks from everyone. I do have some hopefully fun ideas I can implement a little further down the road once we all get our feet under us a bit more. Might take a bit of patience in the meantime as we work out what works best and I’m sure I’ll probably make a mistake or two along the way.

Was It H2 FWD or RWD? The FWD should drive similar to the r2 for our first rally.

There are only 2 options

Historic Rally H2 (FWD)

Peugeot 205 GTI
Volkswagen Golf GTI 16V

If you see different cars, you are practicing with the wrong class  Hot hatches!!

I did two fun things today.

I asked my daughter whether she would like to drive the rally car (It is her birthday), and she said yes. So I fired up Finland, Paskuri. Took a Seat Ibiza Kit Car and let her steer while I was doing the pedal work.
It was fun!
Then my son (3 years old) steered for a bit. It went surprisingly well at low speeds.

The other thing I did is go to NZ with an old Opel Kadett. Man, that was fun! Re-learning the RWD cars.
I will upload a short video of some nice turns soon. Man, it feels so good when you get those drifts right.

haha, I’m guessing it was the track I was one. Random logs and such along the side of the roads. One slight miss and TERMINAL.

Sounds like Finland. That’s a tough one.

Another fun comment by my kids:
I drove an old Alpine through Spain, and my son excitedly commented on the engine sounds: “That’s a fart car!!”

As promised a short video of me in the Kadett.
I have a few problems with getting those videos free of stutters, I might have to check my export settings.
Anyway, here is the video (right now still SD, should switch to HD in a few minutes).

Doing the first few stages of the new event right now.
A few major screwups already.
Sadly not one stage without any major error. Yet.

LOL is that the goal? Stage without a major error? I’m toast already!

Done. What cost me most time is probably repairs. I had two heavier accidents that I just could not fix in time.

I still have a relatively good feeling. The Golf GTI is approximately in the same performance class as the Seat I like so much, and handles similarly as well.

This was a LOT of fun. Thanks for founding the club and inviting me!

I have two stages on video. Release soon.

Stage 1 complete. That was a lot of fun and want to echo Aginor by saying thanks for sorting this out.

Nothing major this stage, but I always crack the drivers window. I need to practise hairpins. :slightly_smiling_face:

I can only echo Aginor and keets, this is great fun and thanks for setting this up.

Done a couple of stages and I’m on track for staying alive, off to lie down in a dark room now.
